I agree. Seeing Theo today reminded of much I miss Y&R having a full time devious/sleazy character. Kyle lacks his dad’s “Smilin’ Jack” charm, Summer lacks her mother’s thunder etc.

Speaking of Theo, why wasn’t THAT secret found out about when Kyle & Lola were about to marry? Sheesh. Theo’s story reminded of that lousy soliloquy Sharon gave to Nick about the Sandra Anderson crap back under Pratt.

I now fully expect in three months some random second string actress like Kelly Rutherford pop up with Kyle’s love child.

Good lord that cabbage patch faced looking Uncle Billy humping Summer taunting Sally. I can’t wait for the idiot to be knocked down several pegs. Kyle even told the dumb pig to leave Sally alone.

What in the hell am I watching? Why is Sharon providing counsel to Chelsea? God what a terrible storyline.

For the same reason Elena has dream after dream of kissing or sexing Devon and just had a random sex scenes. TPTB are taking advantage of the actors real life romance to get more intimacy on the show. SC and MG can touch and kiss while MG abd MCE can't due to covid.

Not that the Kyle baby thing is some great gold, but they do tend to burn through any story that could conceivably provide drama while lingering on banal stuff like Victoria using her kids to manipulate Billy away from Lily. Kyle really shouldn’t know what Sally/Theo know this soon.

CBS and Sony couldn't be more checked out of Y&R could they? Griffith is zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Now Kyle suddenly has a kid? Where was this secret a few years ago when Theo first came on? Lawd.

And agreed on everyone too nice. Why do soaps want to be Hallmark movies? I don't get it. GH was trending that way too for a while but finally has some sparks of being a soap again. Characters actually argue!

B&B actually portrays conflict and soapy secrets, but feels similar in many ways (a lot of rushing through story and missing beats while also feeling very slow and repetitive). I do wonder what’s happening at CBS. Certainly The Talk’s troubles might be a focus right now.

    • And sadly I think that’s the trivia Both Jeanne Cooper and Eric Braeden went with for years and years. Lol
    • But people were hating so bad on amc and the final year and the ratings sucked. Business wise they made the right call. Oltl who even gained some ratings back and weren’t they higher as GH at one point is a decision and never understood.
    • Ann Williams was the first Maggie Powers on The Doctors but left to have a baby. Maggie was successfully recast so Ann picked up the role of Eunice (Jo's sister on Search for Tomorrow) and played that role for 10 years before being killed of in 1976. That led to her role of Margo on EON.
    • Looking at those totals it seems most contract actors are on a 1 or 2 week average guarantee. I assume contracts are still operating on 13 week cycles so you would have to know the particular actors contract starting date to work out their guarantee. The question remains as to what actors listed as contract are actually recurring? Bryton ?
    • Yep, that scene was at the conclusion of the Derek Thurston vs George Packard storyline, when Kay decided neither of them should run Chancellor.  By the time she put Victor in charge, Victor had been on the show for months & months with his Rolls Royce, his ranch, and Newman Enterprises.  SONY released some Y&R "trivia cards" in the late 1980s, and one of the questions was "who brought Victor Newman to Genoa City?" The answer on the back of the card is "Kay Thurston, to run Chancellor Industries", and it's a wrong answer lol.
    • I think someone said it did exist, but I can't remember.
    • The bit with the scarf reminds me of the fabled stuffed animal scene with Rick and Phillip. (That wasn't debunked, was it?)
    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
