Sad news. He played Sean with a lot of humor and the right touch of gruffness, taking a supporting, one-note character and making him a touchstone for many viewers. He and Sharon Wyatt were so so good together.

I'm sorry that his ATWT work, which was apparently terrific (so much so that viewers could not accept the return of the former actor to the role), is all lost to time.

Sad news.

Sean was such a great character.  I always loved the special relationship he had with Felicia.  I was sad when they wrote Sean and Tiffany off the show.

John Reilly was such a defining part of the cast of 80s GH. RIP “Sean Donely” 😢❤️

Sad to hear this.

My first experience with him was as Alistair on Passions but now that I've watched more of him as Sean, I could see how good he really was.

Sorry to hear this! :( I only really know him as Alistair on Passions,  and while the character was a comic book character during his run, Reilly at least made the most out of him.

RIP!

I adored him on GH, but first knew and loved him as Dan Stewart on ATWT. He was remarkably appealing in that role.
