She’s done a number of questionable things on Twitter over the years. All of it seemed attention-grabbing under the guise of social justice. Despicable woman.

And no, I don’t excuse any of Callahan‘s past indiscretions, there’s never a ‘good time’ for something like that to be spoken about. However, someone’s father just died less than 24 hours ago..

I admit, the more I read of NLG on Twitter, the less respect I have for her. And I was a HUGE fan of her Julia Wainwright character - and lesser so of Alexis. Still, this is not the time for this. A daughter just lost her father. Add to that that Callahan is not here now to defend himself of such accusations and...yeah. NOT the time.

And considering Eva LaRue's post about John, it sounds like they had made their peace, which is good to know, if just for their child's sake. So whatever shortcomings John Callahan may have had, well...he was clearly loved and will be missed, and that is what should be the focus. The rest of this ancient history is in EXTREMELY poor taste.

My late mom loved AMC (as did I) so she will get to see JC/Edmund in person.

But I will best remember him as Craig Hunt on SB. Man, could that character smolder! Sadly, there is but crumbs of Craig on YT - at least in English. The other languages kind of distract me.

ELR's post was beautiful, everything that "amicable" should be. All of the social media remembrances really remind you that ELR and JC were active in the soap social circles in their heyday, the last few years of an active, thriving community of daytime stars who all knew each other and supported each other. None of those tweets or instagram posts seem fake or forced. The slow fading out of that vibe definitely translated on screen as actors and actresses became noticeably less connected to one another. There was an energy that just isn't there anymore.

    • yes. today Monday's episode started with words displayed "part 1" and ended with "to be continued"
    • I find Missy Reeve's views offensive and I don't want to defend her, but I don't think she ever said anything publicly about Days "gay content".   In fact, I don't think she's ever said anything negative about Days at all.  There's no indication Missy is difficult or unprofessional on set-except for the whole affair thing years ago lol-but that's a whole different topic. I can dislike Missy as a person and still think she's the perfect fit for Jen.  Cady tried and it didn't work for me.  Whenever Missy steps into the role it works.  It's a two things can be true situation.  Missy has some bad opinions, but she's great at playing Jennifer.
    • Doesn't the funeral go into Tuesday
    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.
