Taiwan, which had been doing so well (my friends there basically went about life as normal, mask-free, throughout most of the pandemic), saw a spike this week and is implementing restrictions. My friend shared some photos of bare supermarket shelves and long checkout lines on IG that recalled the early days of the pandemic here.

An article about their spike, which is only a relative handful of cases, but they are proactive:

Taiwan, New Zealand, Vietnam and other Asian/Asian-Pacific Island nations have been among the most proactive in this. Probably due to their experiences with the SARS epidemic in the early aughts.

Cuomo has announced that NY will adopt CDC mask guidelines starting Wednesday: fully vaccinated people can drop masks in most indoor and outdoor settings. Masks are still required on public transit, nursing homes, health care facilities, schools, etc.

It's so nice to post on this board where people believe in science and the pandemic is not a hoax.  Thanks everyone for being a fun place to visit....there aren't that many left.

Aleve kept me afloat just fine - it's been a weekend since my second dose on Friday morning and I think I'm fully recovered minus some soreness and fatigue on Saturday. I took Aleve much sooner than I did on dose 1, so that surely helped.

Awesome to hear! I get my second dose (Pfizer) next Tuesday! I know my close friend got his second dose (Moderna) and felt like an absolute wreck. I think everyone reacts differently.
