Members Faulkner
My mom just told me that her county in Mississippi is a COVID hotspot. Scary stuff.
Members JaneAusten
Is she self isolating? My thoughts to you and your mom.
Members Faulkner
She is as of now, but I was furious to learn that she and my nephew left to go to the local Dollar General to pick up groceries over the weekend... Thank you!
Members DRW50
So sorry to hear this, glib as that sounds. I hope all will be well for her.
Members Faulkner
Thank you! I think the news about it hitting close to home made her take it more seriously (someone she knows who lives up the road from her tested positive), and she’s being very cautious.
Members DRW50
Shameful, and totally predictable.
Members Khan
My thoughts are with you and your mother as well, @Faulkner. Now that states are easing up on lockdown restrictions, we all need to exercise more caution.
Members Soapsuds
You're one of my favorite posters even though you're a joker fan..lol. I hope your mom stays safe. My parents had to go out as they were running short on supplies. I wasn't happy either but they wore their masks and germ x in hand. Members Faulkner
So glad to hear he’s in recovery. I can’t imagine what that’s been like for him, or you. (Thanks for your prayers!) Also learned that a former co-worker was completely laid out with an illness a couple weeks ago and only just now was informed she had COVID from the antibody test. Thank you! Having an 81-year-old diabetic mother and a sister with lupus/kidney transplant in a COVID hotspot is scary, as I’m sure it’s been for all of us with vulnerable loved ones in hard-hit areas.
Members DramatistDreamer
It is scary even when you live in a proactive state but Mississippi, I can only imagine. I am going to keep good thoughts for your mom, sister and family that they maintain good health and safety. Hopefully the community will look out for each other and be considerate of one another. I am so glad to hear this. As for the WFH and remote work news. Twitter is already allowing all their employees to work from home and it looks like the Nielsen company will be making a similar offer to their employees as well. I suspect that many companies might be seeing it as cost-effective and productivity hasn't gone down, so it's becoming more of an attractive option, especially with companies located in high-density cities.
