Jonathan Bennett is returning to daytime next month, playing the newly created role of Joe Fitzpatrick on âGeneral Hospital.â
âWeâre so excited to have Jonathan joining our cast,â said the showâs executive producer, Frank Valentini, in a statement released to Deadline, which first reported Bennettâs casting. âHeâs a tremendous talent and will be a fantastic addition to âGH.ââ
From 2001-2002, Bennett portrayed the role of JR Chandler on âAll My Children,â following the exit of singer and actor Jesse McCartney. By 2004, he had become a household name, playing Aaron Samuels in the cult classic film âMean Girls,â opposite Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried, who is also an alum of âAll My Children,â having played Joni Stafford from 2002-2003.
In 2018, Bennett reprised his role as Aaron Samuels from âMean Girlsâ in the music video for âThank U, Nextâ by Ariana Grande.
With nearly 100 acting credits to his name, Bennett has starred in numerous Hallmark Channel movies, including âThe Groomsmenâ trilogy and âA Keller Christmas Vacation,â and as the host of such competition shows as âFinding Mr. Christmas,â âHalloween Warsâ and âBattle of the Decades,â among others.
