Days is trash!! I didn't bother seeing what they did to Stefan.

Viewers are actually wanting Julie to die and Stefan to live. That's how much Julie is hated and Brandon Barash is loved.

It's insane but I guess it's a testament to her skills that she can still evoke strong responses after all these years.  She and Bill were actually on a hit list (with Jane Fonda and some others) in the 80s.  The guy was arrested before he got to California.

I enjoyed the fast pace of the week. Just some funny oddities:

1. Dr. Sarah Horton blabbing about paternity test to Nicole. So much for doctor patient confidentiality.

2. Lani feeling guilty because a known felon, who's already shot someone, was ready to shoot her! Having Gabi harass Lani during the next episodes before the TJ is hollow.

3. Stefan's arching dive was so OTT - when I first saw a promo, I thought it was a parody.

4. Jack/Eve - wish we'd have more chances to see KDP do less screeching. This seems to be a DAYS theme: Eve, Kristen, Vivian are given way too many scenes that are just unhinged and all three are played by actors who have the ability

5. Vivian waving the gun at Kristen for the whole episode. C'mon.  Vivian could've conveyed the same threats without the gun - it's not like Kristen was going to kill her. It ruined a chance for two characters that actually could form an alliance. After all, Kristen did hide Vivian.

6. Seeing the "Kristen as Nicole" scene with Brady only reaffirms that StepNicole has got to go.

Yeah, writing Julie as a "low-key racist" is not doing anyone any favors.  However, I wouldn't want her (or SSH) to die.  They just need to stop making her one of the MAGA crowd.

It was brought up on-screen. Eli and Lani had a sit down with her. People seem to think she can't hate Gabi because she's Latina and so she's suddenly a racist. She says some un-PC things but it's not like Gabi can't hold her own and insult Julie too. I don't really like how the fans have taken their feud and twisted it into Julie being a racist. A woman her age, sorry folks, is going to be a little un-PC whether we like it or not.

I love him too but the fans are being ridiculous over this, yourself included

we all know he's back taping and Stefan is probably not dead. I'm not upset at all. But I am upset because all of this [!@#$%^&*] is probably for nothing. They should have reversed course months ago and kept Stefan around. But nope, plot shock value wins out.

It does bother me how much some fans hate Julie. I wish she had better writing. Doug and Julie are staples and need to be treated as such. I know Jarlena fans want them to be Tom and Alice (and they're working on but they are NOT there yet) but that's Doug and Julie right now. Sorry fans don't like Julie but I'm tired of fans being unable to separate actor and character and I'm tired of rabid couple stans (I LOVE Stabi) taking their anger out in ridiculous ways. It's just a [!@#$%^&*] soap opera. It's not the end of life itself.

Julie started making the comments with the racial undertones last December when she called Gabi “chiquita” during their showdown.  Then she made some similar remarks when talking about Gabi to Abby.  Before that she always made it clear that she hated Gabi because she murdered Nick.  Coincidentally, Stefan started making similar comments to Gabi at the same time but there hasn’t been any uproar over that.  I could wring Ron’s neck for starting this.  I didn’t watch OLTL but I understand that he had KDP’s character call a Latina character, “chiquita,” on there.  He probably thought he was being funny.

    • I assume they did at some point during the finale...
    • Kelly was a horribly-written character overall. Just think, two Emmy-winning actresses (including Cynthia Watros, Nina, GH, and Annie, GL) couldn't make it work. Pamela is campy, but so are Dani, Vanessa, Leslie, and Joey. And, I don't want to be too judgy because my love for camp changes depending on the show. OLTL, DAYS, and some eras of GH had me rolling with the camp. However, Passions was overkill and I hated it. And, here, I can take it or leave it. It's ok in small doses (note to RC). I see this show as more of a serious drama.
    • I think one of the reasons that pilot didn't get picked up was because Vicki L was associated more with being Thelma Harper and playing older then she was playing her own age.  It was a blessing it didn't get picked up, or we would have been deprived of the syndicated era of Mama's Family.   Also, worth noting a Pre Night Court Marsha Warfield and pre Perfect Strangers Rebecca Arthur in the cast.  All talented women, but stuck with a bad script. And the other pilot had a pre Fran Fine.. Fran Drescher as the best friend.  I think that pilot might have been picked up if Karen Valentine and Fran Drescher switched roles.
    • So, on rewatch....did Rick and Mindy never have sex?
    • Cady had a fairly posh accent or manner as Rosanna - the character was a 180 from Dixie when she went to ATWT, and it was a huge success initially. As someone mostly only familiar with the nagging, miserable or clueless Dixie of the mid-late '90s and early 2000s it was what convinced me Cady could act. I thought she was incredible in her first run. Later, in future stints, her hair and story and performances were all over the place but a lot of that was down to the show for me. She brought some of Rosanna back with her to Dixie in her ill-fated return and a lot of people didn't like it, which I understood but I did think the character needed some change. I think she's had a little bit of the same persona and arch performance in every role she's played since, including Jennifer Horton at DAYS or Kelly at Y&R, who later became a maniac and was easily the worst work I've ever seen Cady do. It has kind of infected her overall mannerisms, I'll allow that, but I do think she brought Dixie back together as herself while still evolving the character when she returned to AMC again in 2012-13. Nonetheless, for me the upshot is that this is a character where Cady's kookier recent performance style suits the role. But I can understand it grating for people.
    • Yeah, Loretta Swit's passing stings. My late dad LOVED the show (he died last November) and watched it religiously. In first run and repeats.  And I was literally born the day after the show's premiere, so I grew up with it! I know many loved later, softer Margaret, but I loved Early Hot Lips. In real life, I'm all for less misogyny, but to me, the early years of M*A*S*H were just funnier. May Loretta Swit rest in peace. Thanks for all the memories connected to my dad!

    • I agree that she isn't Dixie or Rosanna and shouldn't be acting like either. I just found it strange that she had a naive Southern character and a wealthy urbane character in the past and didn't experiment with accents before (unless I missed it, correct me if I'm wrong). She used to do improv characters on YouTube. She's probably doing something similar here.

    • And here I thought I'd never think about Lauren Tewes again after her brief appearance in Twin Peaks Season 3.
    • I may be the single person who does not mind Transatlantic Campy Pamela. I think it perfectly suits this sort of Absolutely Fabulous-esque supporting character she's playing much more than it did when Cady tried weird and often broad stuff at AMC* or Y&R, or later stints at ATWT. She's not Dixie and she's not trying to be. I will freely admit some of the other chances she took at other shows often came off stiff, hammy or downright mortifying (Kelly Andrews, come on down). (* - and I say that as one of the few who was somewhat into Cady trying to make Dixie more cosmopolitan in the Rosanna Cabot mold in mid-2000s AMC, just to liven the character up again)
