Y&R Actor Being Furloughed?

Personally, I haven't been wondering where he's been (at all) but according to this post, some fans of the show have (*shrugs*).

Looks like Daniel Hall is off the show for awhile, at the very least.

Y&R has been doing a kind of 'furlough' with actors who don't have much story--not a bad strategy, TBH.  Maybe Scott will return with a different actor to portray him.

He looked scruffy, scratchy and unwashed, and his acting was uninspired. The definition of generic, mediocre. Sharon Case and Tracey E. Bregman acting him off the screen is to be expected, but when Melissa Ordway does too, you know you in danger, boy.

Cat, I live for reading your posts, especially the Housewives and agree with ALL of it, but when you say stuff like Tracey E Bregman is acting anyone off a screen, that makes me sad

You pretty much have to be Charity Rahmer to make Bregman look good.  I think this is your first bad post, and I'm going to be sad for most of the day...

Given all the atrocious actors who have darkened Y&R's soundstage -- TEB is your worst? Not Sean Young? Not when Eden Riegel played a lawyer? Not Stitch? Heck, not even high-pitched Greg Rikaart??

imo TEB is a solid actress whose selfish b!tch of a character, Lauren, has been gagged, lobotomized and deballed ever since they married her off to Michael Baldwin. Lord, when I think of the current cast members who make me want to drag my fingernails down a chalkboard, Bregman isn't even in the Top 10. Unpopular opinion, but I'm finding Camryn Grimes more overrated as an actress.

I love reading your posts even when we disagree!

I only enjoyed TEB when she being a "see you next Tuesday" to Traci or terrorized by Sheila. But since then, I've had very little use for her nor has the show really.

I think Mal was aiming for Aidan Turner in Poldark, but the difference is that AT is hotter than spit on a griddle.

I haven't gotten the character/actor from his appearance.  I just didn't care and his acting sure didn't make me care.  Sometimes I don't like a character at first but an actor or actress can win me over...I don't see that actor winning anyone over no matter what the character.

"Furlough"? Is this the National Guard or a fückin' soap opera?

Speaking of word usage, for the board's next trick after wiping out our trolls (not naming no names but you're welcome, everyone), can @Errol please consider getting rid of the profanity filter? It's 2018!

    • That makes sense. Rauch did like to play games, as shown with some of the antics with the Labines. We should make some screencaps.  I can imagine her not being thrilled by much of anything in 1996.
    • I believe he also turned out to be Doug Cassen's son. I could be wrong about that. Yeah, he doesn't get talked about much in the history books.
    • Cady McClain said the same thing with her hairdos - she switched it up so much because she was either unhappy or bored.  Kim must have been unhappy in 1996 because she has so many different short styles, it's wild (haha).
    • She definitely was trying new things with her hair and makeup in the 1986 scenes I saw so it tracks. Rauch wouldn't have been there, but it just strikes me as a conversation Rauch would have had with her with when he was at GL. Rauch loved to badmouth JC. So she put it in the book as if she had been told at the time. It's like how she has Michelle Forbes on GL years before she actually arrives or Ellen Wheeler firing people who had been fired yrs. before by Rauch or Conboy.
    •   From what actors have said, Y&R has been very busy taping the upcoming storyline, and that was up to and including the week of Diamont's party, and after.
    • Well, a good number of sets were up when I was there, but there was a limited number of people around. Even Y&R seemed dead, but maybe everyone was out for lunch at the time? I remember driving from the parking lot and preparing to enter the roadway when I saw Michelle Stafford and Christian LeBlanc returning from what I think was their lunch break. Not sure where they went or were coming from.
    • A scene I cannot wait to see. Julie Harris as Liliemae is the gift that keeps on giving; she's not outright evil, but frustrating, and in her own way, still pretty lovable.
    • Kim used to say that you can tell when she was unhappy because she would try weird or new things with her hair.  I don't think Rauch was at OLTL at the time Zimmer was but their producer at the time probably wasn't much of a peach either.
    • I wonder if less set use was preparing for the move. They probably were preparing for this for awhile now
    • The early part of the season is decent. After that, Season 9 is one of the worst seasons until season 13. Season 10 is a little worse.    That would have made sense, even if it cost us one of my favorite scenes (Ben putting Lilliemae in a headlock). That's an excellent storyline and leads to the show's last strong season finale.
