November 23, 20178 yr Member In honor of Thanksgiving, which year was your favorite Thanksgiving episode on a soap (US, UK, international) and which soap family would you like to spend thanksgiving with?
November 23, 20178 yr Member Any Thanksgiving with Mac Cory and his family on AW. The Snyder/Walsh gatherings (especially with John/Lucinda/Kirk in attendance) on ATWT. I actually like the B&B gatherings (minus the lemon bars).
November 24, 20178 yr Member The Snyder family on ATWT seemed to have the warmest get-together. I'm trying to imagine what spending Thanksgiving with the Collins Family on Dark Shadows would be like.
November 24, 20178 yr Member The Hughes (ATWT), especially mid-late 1980s. They usually had a mix of family, friends and the occasional "stray" guest. As a person of color, I have noticed that the Hughes usually were the only ones that would have any POCs (Heather, Roy, Jessica, Lien), so I think I'd feel most comfortable there.
November 24, 20178 yr Member Its not even close...a Snyder Thanksgiving for me. Don't get me wrong, all the holidays on ATWT (and GL) were warm, family centered events. But the Snyder's were the most unabashedly homey. Not that you wouldn't have a nice time at the Hughes' or Bauer's, but the Snyder's were all about hanging in the kitchen, fixing the meal, and tradition. I actually miss the enormous Hubbard squash and everyone wanting Snyder cider. It would be hard to pick a specific episode, but in 2004, Jack regained his memory (in Montana), and the last Snyder Thanksgiving had Jack returning home after taking off after Brad's death.
