@ajsp35801 @edgeofnik I'm not sure what they were doing when they cast this guy playing Jordan. Terrible line delivery, not much chemistry with Valley Girl or Mishael Morgan, and instead of selling the charming hotshot photographer vibe they're pushing via the scripts....he just seems kind of goofy to me? I don't buy Cane or even Devon being threatened. I think Camryn Grimes could pull something interesting out of him but he's not the epic romancer they were going for.

I loved Victoria and Billy sticking it to Jack. I can't wait for Ashley to usurp him at Jabot, he's such an unlikable asswipe and this pairing with Gloria is nasty and ridiculous.

Chelsea and Nick still putting me to sleep but at least the Chloe blew up Adam wheels are finally turning. EH has nice chemistry with the guy playing Scott btw

I actually like Devon and Mariah but I'm loving independent Hillary even more

I'm going to be honest. I hate Devon and Mariah pairing. Devon seems to be dating down with her. Hate it.

But it won't be casual. Devon will marry that girl cause that's all Y&R knows. Hevon will need an impediment in getting back together after they wake up and she's going to play role of Neil. Cause clearly this Jordan thing ain't nothing. That's my speculation.

I love independent Hilary too. That's the saving grace of this entire mess. I am rooting for her to take lowly GC Buzz and turn it into a brand empire worth as much as Devon's bank account.

Agree about DK. His Jordan is some what of a threat Cane cause of his youth. But he doesn't have anything on Devon. He's a corn ball whose not very sexy. Hilary is also dating down here.

But they MIGHT be setting up, in a non-subtle way, the big reveal that Jordan is in the closet.

If not, then maybe they could ignore JW's preferences and recast Colin with someone younger and more charismatic.

They're not. You know they're not. This show is one scene away being set in the 1950s.

Jordan actually reminds me quite a bit of the way Shemar used to double down on his "blaccent" when Malcolm was supposed to be super cool and suave. This dude goes for the deep black dude baritone. It feels like a put on to me.

I've heard him talking on snap chat. That's his normal voice, I do believe. However, you're correct about the "blaccent". He's being modeled after SM's Malcolm. We are supposed to drool over him. It's falling short. No drool. Just side eye from me.

I know this is off topic but...see, this is why I'm skeptical over a Dru recast. The show can't duplicate certain things and looks stupid trying. Jordan is coming off as a caricature much like DMs Harmony did. MiM is making it work though. I just love her.

Yes! Plus Tyler already had a history with Lily, Cane, Devon, Mariah, Abby...and knew hilary.  The only drawback would be the show hinted that Hilary was his sister. They'd have to deal with that first. Nothing one episode couldn't clear up.

But RWs Tyler is another the show at times made into a caricature. But before he left, they'd stopped pushing that "Malcolm 2.0" bit with him and the character was much better for it.

Which was the right thing to do, it was a huge hanging thread. Katherine left Jill that music box in her will, it held the key to closure for the 40+ year relationship of two main characters.

The only problem with the music box was the incompetent writers. They should of despised themselves for doing such a crappy job the first time around. They kept going around in circles, going off on tangents, and dropping & picking up the story. Thank goodness they were fired! Too bad they had the reigns when JC died and ruined Katherine's ending.

The music box turned into a ring in one day, and given to Jill a couple days later, so there was no wild goose chase this time. Even though I was thought Katherine would have left Jill Chancellor Industries in her will to say she was sorry, and to redeem herself for murdering Phillip, what could Sally do if Jill already had it? The ring was a great idea. And because we found out that Kay kept that ring from Jill all these years, I'm glad Jill went out and got Phillip's company on her own, instead of having it handed to her by Katherine. Kay didn't deserve to be redeemed for killing Phillip.

.

Sharon's daughter is dating down? Poor Mariah has had a tough life, and in spite of it all she's turned into a pretty nice person. As she did with Kevin, I think Mariah going to get the short end of the stick here. She keeps dating guys who are hopelessly hooked on someone else.

    • Just glancing through, it does remind me that I really need to catch up. Sounds like the new writing team have been off to a good start.
    • Loved Katie's reaction to seeing Philip beaten up and near death.
    • I am so pleasantly surprised at how the new writing team is approaching Kate. Towards the end of R*n's run, she faded right out, off contract, pouring coffee at the Brady Pub...and then somehow it turned around and she's back in suits, woven in and out of multiple storylines, and inching back towards the business world, while having her relationship with Roman being written maturely.
    • Someone apparently told Brad Bell that "playing all the beats" meant repeating the same dialogue every day.

Steal her away from Y&R and make her "Sharon".
    • -- I continue to enjoy DAYS post-Carlivati. These women have done a great job in refocusing the show. -- It sounds nuts not to agree with "rapists and murderers shouldn't be romantic leads." But then you get characters like Xander and EJ, and you have to put an asterisk after that quote. I enjoy both characters far too much to want them off the show or thrown in jail. They're romantic leads, but you can't tell me they haven't faced consequences. -- I think the Xander beatdown of Phillip was well-directed -- and in character. Some people here believe Xander went too far. Well, that's who Xander is, and we've seen that many times over these past years. He thought he had family, and then realized it was all a lie, so he resorted back to his animal roots. -- The Stephanie Racy Book storyline is soooooo bad. I had to laugh that she couldn't find her manuscript in that 2x4 apartment.
    • Both Philip and Xander should be in jail, period.
    • 5-14   AMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYY!!! Thank the Lord! lol. But at least I now have something of interest to watch. So good to see Audra and Amy reunited. hehe. I also liked the continued bonding between Damian and Nate. Side-note...those pants on SD and all of that cake is PERFECTION. Mmmm.   I also enjoyed the continued dragging of Billy. First by the son. And then by the father. lol. Billy standing there and being so insufferable and wonder why people are giving him the business. He can stay at that bar and STFU. Double for Chelesa.    And ugh at Giggly Heffa wasting Victor's (and the audience's) time with her inability to spit it out. At least she made up for it by calling Dumas directly. I was just talking about how I love near-miss in the BTG thread, but the difference here is that the Dumas part of the Damian storyline has gone on too long. So her near-miss was annoying.
    • Agreeing with your agreeing, and I bet that any urge toward violence against Sarah is what will cause Xander to try to redeem himself. Even though, as you mentioned the other day, I have enjoyed the buildup.  It seems like everyone easily forgave Philip for stealing from Xander.  And their defense was that Victor wanted his two sons to work together.  Until, finally, Xander exploded and realized that Victor wanted what he wrote in his will, days before his death.  If Philip had led an actual legal battle for the estate, then Xander might have capitulated.  But, Philip made him look like a fool.  Because Philip was too smug to simply ask Xander for what he thought he deserved.  I was shocked/enthralled by how raw they allowed Xander to express his rage.  I don't think that would have been allowed before streaming, yet they show people with guns weekly on GH.  I also want to point out that there is still the inorganic nature that neither person in a fight can swear, that I always find distracting. noted for the contrarians, that is not a defense for violence  -- I assume we are all of sound mind, and know right from wrong. - I also know it airs on network TV in other countries, so they still abide by network daytime standards. - blah blah blah
    • I imagine Philip will refuse to identify Xander because he knows he orchestrated this mess and tanked his brother's marriage. Eventually I hope to see Philip and Xander reconciling their awful crimes against each other and restoring that brother bond.  And Xander needs therapy. He was twisted into what he is by Victor's cruelty and has zero anger management skills. Having said that I think this was more a gross writing choice than anything else. One punch would have sufficed for sure but they wanted to show us Sarah was "right". Never mind that she created this situation by helping Xander love his brother so the betrayal was far worse. If he'd heard the truth immediately he would have had Philip arrested and fired him. But Sarah wanted Philip to be her mole to control her husband at work. Who never needed it as he's run Titan just fine on his own before.
