That was me with the Olivia and Jack pairing. That'd work for them both and the canvas cause it allows for Nate Jr to come on and be able to play beats to his story that lily/Devon never could cause they no longer have a mother. 

 

But I'm going to say no on Hilary and Nate Jr. Hilary would be bordering on Chelsea territory sans the overactive uterus. As someone said, burned through 10 years of story within 5 years. Do we really want to see Devon and Nate fight over Hilary...and woman after woman like Neil and Malcolm? Let's think about this? 

 

Ah. Good points ... if Neil weren't a part of that Nate wouldn't be so bad but yeah ...

The only thing I'd want to see Devon do is hire someone to remove that damn mole near his nose.

Had they gone for Devon vs Nate in the beginning i'd  have embraced it because I'm fully aware of the limitations black males have on this canvas. It is what it is. But they screwed everything up with throwing Hilary under Neil. Totally unnecessary.

No to Jon Hensley...he was already bloated and losing his hair when ATWT went off the air....neither which fits the role of Cole.

Not sure how true this is, but I read on another site around fall 2009 that Y&R was going to recast Cole with Grant Aleksander. The storyline would have had Cole return to Genoa City as a lawyer instead of an author.

 

Fall 2009 was MAB, right? She had a thing with casting former All My Children actors and primetime sitcom actors if I'm not mistaken.

I'd love for Grant Aleksander to have been a Cole recast too. I just would hate that he'd have to carry the scenes with AH though. I'd probably beg and plead for them to toss Cole back into Ashley's orbit quickly.

The thought of GA and AH in romantic scenes is like an Andrew Lloyd Webber production gone horribly wrong.

I loved the Nikki/Victoria/Reed scenes. It is so nice to see the Newmans as a real family and share real moments instead of talking about baby paternities, switches, murder, prison, blackmail etc.

 

The Jack/Gloria doesn't work for me at all. It makes him such a loser for no reason. The Gloria character reminds me of Santa Barbara's Gina in the show's worst eras. This would be much more interesting with Jill or Lauren.

 

TB is overacting all the time, I can't take her stories seriously. She seems so needy all the time, not someone who has been running a company for decades. The fact that she looks like a Real Housewife of Dallas doesn't make things better for me.

 

I am enjoying MTS a lot these days. She hasn't looked this vibrant and beautiful in years. 

 

Oh and I really love GT's version of Phyllis.

Jack has been written to be the loser for no reason for several years (and writing regimes) now, which is why I want him nowhere near Hillary.

Pairing the two might help enliven his character for a moment but would ultimately drag the Hillary character much further south.

Already, she barely survived her pairing with Neil.

I'm in no mood to see Hillary get the Sharon treatment, wandering on the edge of being reviled and into oblivion for years at a stretch.

SSM gonna prop her pet (Gloria) and try to make her relevant come hell or high water!  I can't remember the last time I've hated a YR character this much.
