Reed is working out perfectly so far, although the joviality of Victor meeting him and then telling Nikki and Noah felt a little fake. They didn't really pull it off. I'm glad Victoria's acting cool about the whole thing but, in some moments, she's too relaxed about it. But that's more AH than the writing. Big surprise.

Victor was WAY too jovial with Reed. If there's one thing Victor hates it's when kids are disrespectful to their parents.

One of his grandsons randomly turns up on his mom's doorstep (who lives in another state) with no warning because he's run away from home?

There's no way Grambo would be greeting him like Santa Claus. Sure he would be happy to see Reed but he would have serious issues with the recklessness of Reed's behavior.

So after seeing Devon's memory lapse play out on screen, I have no objections.  It makes sense given his injuries.  It's not like they went full on amnesiac like UpChuck did with Hilary.  That was ridiculous, this is not.

A novel approach!

Why does he need a motive beyond business is business, though? A lot of these characters (and others all over on soaps) were raiding each other on principle when Donald Trump was still on his first wife.

He doesn't need a motive, but he has it anyway: Bringing Fenmore's into the Jabot fold would offer Jabot insane advantage in the market and would hurt B&S, considering Brash & Sassy has an exclusive contract with them.

ALSO, as they set up with Nikki, Jack is at least partially doing this as a reaction to what's been going on in his life. He's throwing himself into work, going nuts with the B&S eviction and the Fenmore's takeover, as he tries to process what happened and deal with it, perhaps in an effort to prove he's not a loser. I think it's fascinating, and a welcome breather from Victor vs Jack business stories.

It sounds like he's going to offer to buy Fenmore's from Lauren. I doubt it'll be some forceful takeover, and it's probably create some good drama between them. As it stands now, it's good. Then again, I don't necessarily believe they won't screw it up. I don't want Jack going ballistic against Lauren. I doubt that will happen, but we'll see.

He actually did mention that initially, IIRC.

Did he? I don't recall. I just went by what he said yesterday.

I really am starting to think they are writing his epilepsy back in.

Agreed, he accepted it way too easily. I hope it was because this was their first meeting in years and that he will address this down the line. A nice Victor is fine, but I dumb saintly one is not. They don't need to take his "redemption" that far.
