October 31, 201510 yr Member He was one of the most blatant examples of a seat filler recast I've ever seen, I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. Off to low budget Canadian Lifetime original movies where you belong Burgess! I welcome Jason Thompson. They should have stuck with David Tom. He was perfectly fine as Billy. There was no need to recast with Burgess. Come on, David Tom sucked his last run, his only saving grace was his chemistry with his co stars but that can only take you so far when your acting is as horrible as his was. He needed to go just as much as this guy. And Billy Miller was good? Pleases…he was awful….David Tom should have stayed….there are other actors that are much worse than Tom…like Ms. Bucktooth Victoria Newman recast….she has stunk up the place the entire time she has been there….. I've never liked the teeth grinder or Heinle but even when you compare, Tom still came up short. I think y'all gave and give him way too much leeway just because of his first run, that performer was not there during his last stint. When he wasn't cringe inducing he was laughably bad, just as out of place and awkward as Cady McClain and Kelly Sullivan. I'll agree that AH purposely tanked their scenes and should have been sent packing for it but even outside of her his performance was still poor. I would have maybe let the pairing with Chelsea play out a little longer with him and see if that could help but I think they would have ended up having to recast by the time Adam turned back up anyway. He did not have the screen presence to sell a triangle, a grieving father, a business man, or a guy who can't help but screw his life up. He just didn't have it. October 31, 201510 yr Member How embarrassing seeing comments at DC saying they need to bring back the "original" Billy - Filler Miller. Maybe when he's done killing ratings at GH the way he did at Y&R, they can snap him up.
October 31, 201510 yr Member David Tom was FAR from being a nerdy wimp. He was handsome in my book. One of the few men in entertainment that was blessed with an everlasting babyface but still looked manly. Of course he'd look wrong opposite that dry, decrepit, bucked-mouth broad that occupies the role of Victoria till this day.

October 31, 201510 yr Member BYE, BITCH!!! the character is becoming a joke. Becoming, though? As soon as Miller was brought in, the character was DONE. David Tom was FAR from being a nerdy wimp. October 31, 201510 yr Member Burgess Meredith is an acting legend but he was just never right for this role. I wish him the best.

Despite his alleged struggles, I think he's cleaned up and remained nice. I am still pissed how AH felt he wasn't good enough to be her leading man. But that's fine. I enjoyed the time DT was on the show and starring opposite a woman more age appropriate anyways--MCE. Chelsea and Billy were WAY hotter than anything Villy has produced.

I know that really pissed me off, I stopped seeing Y&R for a few months, but came back with Tognoni was cast. I agree loved MCE with DT, they were great together.
