My DOOL pick would be Mike and Carrie's first kiss on the Horton house front porch as the fireworks shot off in the background.

Yesterday's B&B was one of the best in recent history. I miss the GH July 4's of the 80s. There was a strong sense of community in Port Charles back then, from Stella making the Q picnic to the Hardy's, the Baldwin's the Webber's , the Kelly's with Rose setting up things, the Spencer/Scorpio/Jones contingent, Bryan and Claudia. So many good memories! Everyone convening in the park. Those were the days!

Y&R, 1998: was Jill's poolside explosion at Katherine over ownership of the Chancellor mansion set on the 4th of July? I seem to recall it was.

The poolside explosion (i.e. one of the top best Y&R moments ever!) was in September 1998. 4th of July was a Nick/Sharon pool party at the Newman Ranch.

I used to love the Bauer BBQs on Guiding Light.

I keep saying that one year I'm going to make Bauer Burgers.

Miss pool parties at the Ranch and Chancellors'

I guess we will have to get use to someone looking at fireworks from their jail cell from now on...

I always loved AMC's late '80s/early '90s episodes on the 4th, watching with my big family crammed in my great-grandmother's window unit air-conditioned apartment after the parade. Not that I can recall anything groundbreaking happening, it was just that Pine Valley sense of community and usually the majority of the cast would be featured.
