Everyone is on point, about how OTT and how much phoning in the actors are doing lately.....Even the vets are too the point where they probably think they are performing some attempt of a soap parody....

The really bad thing I'm shameful to admit though is that I would be lying if I said I wasn't being entertained....

Summer just figuring it out about Austin/Abby during his funeral and calling out Abby in front of everybody......Hilarious.....and I still think Hunter King is very talented, but her facial expressions during the eulogies leading up to it, were hysterical....

Chris losing her s**t after being told Nikki was the one who ran her over......again also priceless.....(though it was some of the best acting I've seen Lauralee do in a while.....but the way she said "Murderess Nikki" just made me laugh....

All this horrible terrible over the top stuff that isn't Y&R, yet I still am getting a kick out of it....

The thought of something like this happening to Mariah or any of the 3 would just increase the amount of laughing I've been doing during this show the last 3 days....

While this parody is still hot, might as well have either drunk Nikki or Neil run one of the guys over and for them to think it's actually their stalker....

I wish one of them would just assume it was Kevin acting alone in all this, because the last name is a dead ringer anyway...."FISHER-MAN"

Here we go again with "the actors are all phoning it in."

That is complete bullshit, you might not like the melodrama and OTT stuff, but the actors are not phoning it in. Sorry, but I get sick of that meaningless cliche being tossed around.

IA, she was good in those scenes. She looked like Nikki just mowed her down. Excessive drama for sure, but it was compelling to watch. For me at least.

Just to be clear, I think this show is a hot mess. And it's hard to look away from it.

Maybe you should not watch...Doug's acting was amazing to day and I guess I would scream too if my wife had been run down and she had lost her baby..Nick was good too..I guess a person has to be in a certain frome of mind to appreciate soaps..So happy I have 4 left to watch..Try to enjoy them.

I love soapy hot messes I guess..I cannot look away either!!!

I loved it and so did my friends..I think the minority are the "fans" who complain about Doug..He is an amazing actor!!!

LOL

Adam was coming off as super desperate trying to convince Chelsea to ride home with him. The actors compliment each other well, but IMO (apart from the end of Muhney's Adam), I never considered her the love of his life, now it's his throughline. JH sells it, don't get me wrong, but are they really the soul mates that the show is trying to sell.

The hysterics were toned down a bit today, but they made sure to end on a high drama note. Cricket yelling her hatred for Nikki. Yawn. Like yall, I'm wondering why Neil is being protected.

Nick talking to Austin's casket. Ha!

Eh, wonder if next week will get any better? :-/

) Anyways... I did really feel disgusted by Eurovision this year and I doubt I'll watch this horrific musical torture in the future. My ears and my psyche will not survive.
    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
    • Lucy Coe wasn't even this big of a whore.
    • Kate being the one that Alex called was a nice surprise. The cut to her looking all sheek made me instantly get excited for her to get back into business mode. And the Jack reference from when she first came to town (on-screen) was inserted naturally which is always welcome. When they were talking about how much sex sells, I almost got the impression they were sizing each other up in a May/December type of way.  All the Philip stuff was gruesome. I'm happy the show isn't shying away from Xander's ugliness. I love them both, and it just makes me intrigued for the aftermath for it all to be taken seriously. I cheered when Philip spat out at that Sarah knew the truth. I'm on tenterhooks for their eventual confrontation. I was surprised that Kate wasn't a little vicious towards Sarah for Xander's obvious behavior, but maybe that's still to come. How wonderfully entangled is it that both Philip and Shawn/Steve stopped each other from getting the drug. Both equally at fault. Who/what will ultimately save Bo? And with everything going on, is a Salem where it's looking likely that EJ is about to own the hospital imminent?
