Grahn: For years, Jane and I were the only older women on contract, and they weren’t working us. It’s a fact that the previous regime at ABC Daytime [headed by Brian Frons, who exited in 2012] was repelled by age, and there was a very strict policy that only the young GH characters should be focused on, that only the young actors should be used for publicity. And the ratings went down.

----------------------------------

I believe that isnt the whole story but the abandonment of the real GH characters that people expected to see prior to 2002 I think did eventually wind up hurting the show. There is as yet not a single instance of Steve Burton or Jason Morgan having any noticeable impact on ratings except, as NLG points out, driving them down perhaps. With the ratings the Frons/Guza/Phelps/Benard/Burton regime produced GH could have just gone to a seniors home and filmed oldsters trying to put their teeth in and it would have been the same.

The show still doesn't use Anna and Tracy (forget about Bobbie, Monica, Lucy and Felicia) as much as they could but at least there are characters now that belong on GH. Why the hell this article included that Y&R woman (I forget her name) is beyond me.

I guess spitting in a co-worker's face to "enhance the scene" doesn't count as changing the script at all, huh?

Why anyone lends any credence to a word that comes out of that bitch's mouth is completely beyond me! She created such a hostile environment on many occasions but tries to convince fans she was wronged. At least JFP was smart and showed Staff how worthless she was! I expected Logan, Stafford and possibly NLG to be unprofessional, but it looks like West has hitched her wagon to Stafford. Big mistake!

I think that MW is trying not to rock the boat b/c she knows what MS is capable of. Better to keep the piece than rock the boat. Especially since Michelle would automatically have Nancy, her BFF, in her corner.

But didn't Maura and Michelle not get along at Y&R? There were rumblings that Michelle had a hand in having Diane killed off/Maura fired. Wouldn't be surprised if it were true along with other numerous rumors about Michelle and her mishaps at Y&R.

I think MW and MS are fine but I doubt she cares or thinks about what Giggly Heffa is capable of. LW and JE seems to be on team Maura anyway..at the latest ladies of GH event in NJ Laura couldn't stop gushing about her old friend from the p&g days.

    • Slower day, but not bad. I thought Tomas was at his personal best today, flirting with Kat at Uptown.  Hayley is pregnant!  Oh boy... Samantha felt more like the babysitter today vs. the young sister. I'm ready to meet Sharon. I want a strong dynamic so it's not a repeat of what we just saw with Tracy's reunion.
    • They've been on same day for three episodes, which is a good thing because the days flowed weird to me before.
    • I see both Lois and BLQs sides re Gio BLQ wanted her son to be happy. Lois wanted to make sure it happened, so she gave him to family. Selfish?  Yes, but I get it Gio was raised by a loving mother and extended family. Lois followed BLQ wishes Great acting by AS & RS

date: Tuesday, May 27 | Christopher Dunn, Lynn Martin | Steven Williford I feel bad for Chelsea; she's exploring her feelings, and they're getting [unintentionally] hurt. But I love the support that Katherine has for her cousin. Bradley, you deserve one hundred times better than Deadbeat. So much more. Anita essentially tossing Tracy out... whew. She's done. DONE. Ouch... Chelsea hit the nerve with Katherine. How interesting... I feel like Tracy is becoming the mirror Anita has been avoiding while being a Dupree. What are these top secret things she's harbouring? I really hope Jessica's interest in Tyrell is genuine, because if it isn't, it might just destroy him. Back alley meetings? Your family? As if Bradley is not part of your family... Deadbeat, sit your ass down. Hey, Childbride, lower your damn voice. You're in the country club, not the country field where your ass belongs. And oh God, she's knocked up. Whew... here we go! Dante Greene, what control did this man have? But I appreciate that Anita and Tracy are uniting together; I pray that Sharon joins them soon. I love how easy Katherine and Tomas are with each other; it's smooth, it's natural and it's blooming in all the right ways. Hayley is about to battle the Dupree women for all she's worth. I am calling it right now. The unwavering support Vernon continues to provide to Anita is paramount; I adore them as the couple they are. Notes: Mike Manning (Bradley) continues to show up time and time again in scenes with Brandon Claybon (Deadbeat), who brings nothing to the table. There is an extreme lack of romantic chemistry between them. I'm wondering how different Dante Greene is going to be in comparison to Berry Gordy Jnr; we know the true history of Diana Ross and the Supremes, but how different will it be with Anita Williams and the Articulettes?
    • This episode is beyond excellent Could have waited on tge Trina Kai scenes  but regardless  great soap
    • Haha same! I didn't like her in the beginning, but over time, I've really grown to love to hate her as a villain.  I can't wait to listen to today's new episode later tonight! I've been waiting for the mom and dad (Crystal/Vincent) to have an interaction, so I'm happy to hear it's today.
    • I've always really been enjoying the show. It's very well produced and has so many soap stars in it. I was just listening to ep 7 on YoutTube and can say I'm hooked. There was an intense scene with Crystal Chappell and Vincent Irizarry about halfway through that was GOOD! Is it bad I kind of like Mina? I know she's supposed to be the main villian
    • This isn't a bad episode, but I'm finding myself not as engaged. Must be the lack of Eva and Leslie. No Nicole, Dani.
    • Yes!! I didn't realize it before, and had a busy weekend, so wasn't here much

Wow, what happened to AMC this week? Crashing from 8.4 to 6.6.. I mean, I know they used to go up and down much more than they do today, but this seems like a harsh drop (from 7th to 13th). And nice to see Y&R's first weeks
