ICAM.

I love the many shades of Moira. She's desperate for status and wealth and not a bit sorry about it. How refreshing to have an honest character on this show! And she does love Rick - for now. I could see her hitting on the gardener as soon as she is Mrs Rick Forrester, though. Or screwing Carter. LOL

I like her storyline its made her more interesting than she was before also it opened up Caroline for me who I previously loathed. I like the storyline with Caroline/Ridge; I didn't think it would go romantic but its really soapy and again did a lot for the Caroline character... Myrna is working that vixen angle well, she put Caroline on notice. I like that kind of soap its a staple "the thirsty thot" social climber...

Actually, wouldn't it be nice if she remained feisty and loyal to Rick? I truly wish with Hope being off canvas for a while that they let this story flourish. They just can't be blind that people are excited about Maya - probably for the first time ever. (And I know people haven't always like KM as an actor, but she has definitely improved. Maybe it's because she's having fun playing someone other than a victim for a change.) The play between Caroline/Myrna worked during the reality show mess and it still holds up. I just fear, that like Quinn, when a woman on this show is projected as strong, direct, etc., they turn into a psychotic shrew. I would hate to see that with Maya. And, let's be real, in multicultural LA, isn't it refreshing to see a diverse character in the thick of things? Plus, I am happy that they found a way to incorporate Carter - especially the way he totally calls out Maya! I wouldn't mind seeing Caroline/Carter mix it up either.

SpectralDarla was soooo over the top, even for campy B&B standards. It was utterly hilarious!!! Speaking of somehting utterly... The lighting on LaTylo was HORRIFIC. She looked even more plastic than during her surgery magic lips heyday. That said; its been a treat to see Taylor again.

And Quinn in disguise!? At the hospital!? Rena Sofer is kickng some major butt. This show can be just sooo good. :-)

For the entire year I've been a good 2-3 months behind, but I have FINALLY caught up and the show is in such a good place!! I love that the ensemble has been consistently utilized, despite Hope still being featured too much. I've been a Maya stan from day one and it is *so* nice seeing her finally get her due. I felt like she was going to be written off after her poor airtime this year, but they have kicked it up a notch. She always had better chemistry with Rick than Caroline's boring ass. I've always felt that Caroline owes everything to Maya, because she was so boring before that storyline kicked into gear. Now she is a nice mix of a complex heroine who could go either way, as opposed to The Sainted Hope. I just hope the show keeps this going and doesn't put this story on the back burner. Keep Ridge vs Rick at the forefront similar to Bill vs Ridge, keep Maya and Caroline feuding over Rick as well. This is *so* much more interesting than anything Hope related.

I love how delusional Minzy is. Like what mistress demands to have the marriage of the man she's sleeping with annulled like a day or two after they screw? She's so crazy to think she can even get an annulment here when Rick and Caroline were married for a year and had sex hundreds of times. There was no manipulation to get them down the aisle and it was valid in every way. Its clear she doesnt want that Forrester fortune split before she can get her hands on it

What do you think of the writing of Maya? You feel she's being thrown under the boss or trashed or are you like me and think they've finally made her interesting

Rick is a douche nad at this point he probably does deserve the money grabber thats using him, but one cant deny that this triangle has helped revitalize the show. They need to keep it going and these two fighting over him has been a delight. They'd be fools to end it and have Caroline move on

    • Susan Lucci was on bereavement vacation because her on screen mom had recently passed away so she was off canvas when this tornado occurred.
    • Thanks @YRfan23 Wow I didn’t realize the cast has gotten that tiny either which is absolutely pitiful.    Surprised that Budig is still on as Taylor barely watched any lol tbh but nonr of the recent daily recaps ever mention her anymore I figured she was out the door soon.
    • I love the yellow bumpers with the crew lol. That's Donna Lewis as the music at the beginning! I haven't heard her in ages. R.J. and Tea were so hot and so underrated. I remember seeing the bit with the Buchanan men promising to show Max a good time in his bedroom and it's still hysterical.
    • I think a lot would've gotten over it the same way they got over the Trina recast, especially since it became swiftly clear NAC is never coming back. The key issue, we agree, is Frank. As long as Trina is onscreen he's not touching that. As for Nikolas, honestly I'd kill him off. Adam Huss has done a wonderful job in a very difficult situation but I don't think he has leading man power for a soap opera (not because he's gay, but he's very intense and I don't think it translates to potential lighter or romantic material; his flirting with Ava briefly was strange) and I was holding out for Tyler to recover and return someday. I am not interested in Nikolas #5 or 6.
    • AlwaysAMC - Your posts are a crack up; they make me laugh.  Thanks.  I especially like how detailed you get enthused about something, and how you curtly and flippantly you reject that which you find subpar.  LOL.   What's great about Annie is her increasing rooting value as time goes on.   I often wanted Annie to be victorious.  Watros infuses her with an energy and a vulnerability that really works, even at times when neither should. Soap viewers often remember and talk about the Big Moments, which is fine, but what I also find really interesting is the 1-2 week time frame that follows the Big Moment.  Later, there are scenes between Annie and Rick involving a trip to the hospital (no way am I telling you why and what happens - hopefully no one does) that I think are as well done as the Big Moment.  Astonishing stuff. Oh..and to reiterate...I ain't telling you sh*t.  You'll just have to suffer!  Ain't anticipation grand?  LOL.
    • @alwaysAMC Glad you made it to the soft rock theme. I share your disgust for the Gilly story, as many viewers did. Gilly was never a big character, but she was a part of why the early '90s feel real and different for GL, and she deserved a much better exit. This was also the last worthwhile role Amelia Marshall had on daytime (I don't even know if Passions fans would disagree). This was also Petronia Paley's only major chance at story and as someone who always appreciated her work, I'm sorry it did not go better for her. And I liked Charles Ewing a great deal on Loving, so I was even more unhappy with how they treated Griffin. It's a deeply offensive role, in many ways.  As for slapping, you may enjoy this, if you are able to find anything onscreen underneath all the ham. It really goes into hysteria in the second clip. As a bonus, you also get a quick glimpse of why the Billy and Mindy recasts were not accepted by viewers. One positive I will say about this clip is that it's one of the few times I remember the show making clear that Roger was able to defend himself if he had to do so.

    • ER Season 15 (first-ish time) BUFFY Season 3 (First time)
    • Probably less than a NBC or ABC soap. There were occasionally slaps. Women slapped men. And parents occasionally slapped their children. There was a period when Mindy and Roxie would fight. But slaps between women were few and far between. The only one between women I can really recall is Vanessa slapping Nadine. There was once where Bea Reardon almost slapped Vanessa, but she didn't. There are probably more, but in general, I always thought CBS soaps (aside from B&B, which used to love Stephanie slapping Brooke) shied away slapping, sort of the way they limited "hell"s and "damn"s to so many per week.

My favorite moments are with Erika and then Robin and Tim Stickney around 7/8 minutes. There are also little yellow bumper moments with the crew, which I enjoy more than the real ones.  There's also a music video at the end to I Will Survive, with Linda Dano and JFP having a cameo (they certainly do know how to survive). Also a fun bit with a frazzled crew member showing cards with the names of every EP she presumably worked for at the show.
