September 17, 201411 yr Member It's all too sad and tawdry at this point. I can only think of Joan and remember the history making, ground breaking, fearless cultural icon and style maven who lived life large and made no apologies for it. That's how she'd want to be remembered and that's the spot I am at now.

September 17, 201411 yr Member Unless Melissa decides she wants to take her mother's seat on Fashion Police, I think they'd be wise to end the series.
September 18, 201411 yr Author Member The doctor that did that biopsy that lead to Joan's death has been identified as New York doctor Gwen Korovin. http://m.nydailynews.com/new-york/joan-rivers-biopsy-doctor-id-nyc-physician-report-article-1.1943127
September 18, 201411 yr Member I've watched a few episodes of In Bed with Joan since she passed, and it's a lot of fun. I'm just sad I didn't find them sooner.

September 23, 201411 yr Member Kathy Griffin is taking over Fashion Police. If ANYBODY could do it it's her, but I don't know if I will still watch. Joan just was Fashion Police. I wish they'd just retire it and show reruns instead.
September 23, 201411 yr Member The thing about Joan is that although she was a comedian and was there to provide the jokes, she genuinely CARED about fashion. I don't think the same is true for Kathy, who probably looks good as Joan's successor on paper, but IMO, will likely not work out. I too wished they ended the show, but if Melissa is happy to have it continue, who am I to disagree?

I too wished they ended the show, but if Melissa is happy to have it continue, who am I to disagree? I'm inclined to agree. Joan loved fashion and jewelry and accessories and had real style. Kathy may succeed if she does appear on Fashion Police, because we don't really know what Kathy's interests are regarding fashion and style. The Fashion Police 90 minute tribute to Joan was incredible, and frankly should be nominated for an Emmy for outstanding special, Melissa did her mother so proud.
September 25, 201411 yr Member Update: Kathy Griffin has specifically stated that she has not contacted E! and that E! has not contacted her and that stories of her joining 'Fashion Police' are not true. Source: https://twitter.com/kathygriffin/status/514903766055661568
September 25, 201411 yr Member Several sources are reporting that NeNe Leakes is also a frontrunner to take Joan's seat. I like that choice. Not just because I'm a NeNe stan, but because Joan was very fond of her, Nene does have her own fashion line, and Lord knows she won't be afraid to rip into people.
