in FB Linda Dano is all in a Huff about Kathy Griffin as Host and blaming her for Daytime not getting respect. Bull !@#$%^&*] [!@#$%^&*]

I need to vent about Kathy Griffin and last night's Daytime Emmy Awards. Named the host by Malachy G. Wienges, Chairman of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences / why I don't know.

Clearly, the TV Academy wanted a buzzworthy host for their livestream-only show, and you can’t get much better than filter-less Griffin. Oh, and she delivered. Her entire intro also had nothing to do with daytime TV

I don't know her and she doesn't know me...after last night, I don't care to know her!

She started the night by saying “Welcome to the [!@#$%^&*] show…this is your night…” Can't imagine anything less classy!

Her claim to fame is that she likes to offend people. Congratulations, mission accomplished.

The Daytime Community is a closely knit community of hard working, very professional, talented people who love entertaining their devoted fans.

I have had the honor to be recognized by The Academy and my fellow performers. I am offended to have someone like Ms. Griffin say things likek “We’re making history! Oh god — [!@#$%^&*]! Guys, I’m sorry if my nipples fall out.”

I was truly offended for my fellow members of the Daytime Community but when she repeated something about Susan Lucci that Sarah Michelle Geller told her in confidence (that probably never happened, Kathy Griffin crossed the line!

I won't repeat it here. Look it up if you want to see what she said.

When The Academy selects a host like Kathy Griffin, it's no wonder people have no respect for Daytime.

If you feel like I do, please let Mr. Wienges know. It's the only way The Academy will know that their experiment did not work.

Hinsey and Logan and their defense of the hilarity of a woman raping a man tells us that this is pretty prevalent in the industry. That this was blown up into a wider entertainment news story mostly tells you how behind the times this genre/industry is.

I'm very proud of what Soap Opera Network has accomplished in the near 13 years we've been online. From a little ezboard message board back in 2001-2002, to becoming one of the most read online soap opera magazines in America today. As a result of this trainwreck of an Awards show, we got linked back to by The Washington Post, TV Line, Dlisted and Entertainment Weekly, just to name a few. Our coverage of the Daytime Emmy Awards was the most comprehensive coverage the awards has received from any outlet for the second consecutive year. By that I mean we've covered the awards consistently since the day the nominations came out while also preparing several dozen Emmy pieces that'll be published over the course of the next two weeks.

Just so excited for what the future has yet to bring.

To comment about the trainwreck that was the Emmys for a minute, however, I'm glad I got to school those idiots on what daytime is all about. My answers may not have pleased some, but I at least knew what the hell I was talking about. In fact, those dimwits were so clueless one of them had the nerve to ask me if I could help them get into the CBS Daytime After Party. I mean, really? Classless retards.

Some of the people at TVLine used to work in soap operas. They post soap news on a regular basis, when it comes to story content for soaps that is something that they never discuss on their site just casting.

The Bev Hilton ballroom is far from a fall from grace.

That 2009 Emmys location? Tht was tragic.

I was all about the selfies. Greg took ours tho and I loved it. He's the best.

You know who else is all about the selfies? Dee Hall.

I got one with Ryan! Of course. I didn't get one wi chandler but he chatted.

I have been to every Emmy show since they came out west.

I can't with her.

They didn't have that great of tapes. They are her friends and that's what this is about. And for someone who couldn't be bothered to show up NLG sure did have a lot to say.

I am not a big AH fan, but her tape was solid.

I agree.

I've always thought he didn't want her gone. He was writing a new story for her and promoting it as a huge storyline and then she was fired. Always seemed like it was someone else decision. She had also signed a new contract right before I think.

I believe that the primetime Emmys are more for shows only in primetime and in a lot of markets the ent news shows air nowhere from noon to 7.

Great moment!

:)

Thanks!

Lol.

So happy with most of the winners. Esp Elieen and Chandler!

    • I found it to be a rather odd way to deal with a character departing for parts unknown.
    • Today reminded me as to why I’m a little disappointed in the name that the new Pope chose

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.
    • I guess, according to Mike Manning in the Michael Fairman chat, he was almost Derek

    • That's a name I haven't heard in a minute. Thanks!
    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
