March 12, 201412 yr Member I don't know how many viewers DTV was expecting but it was the highest rated program on their 101 channel. It just seemed like bait and switch to me. That's not to excuse the many problems Passions had as a show but DTV was never invested in it beyond subscribers. Well said.

The best thing about 101 was the concerts they had. I was able to get a Wynonna concert on DVD thanks to that channel. With Trassions, they began decreasing the airdates until they felt comfortable getting rid of the show altogether. I had DTV at the time, but if I didn't, I sure wouldn't have ordered it for that sh!t, and I once was a huge Shuis fan!

I already had DTV at the time as well and really enjoyed the concert series they did. The show being bad doesn't change the fact that they picked it up to get people to subscribe. They didn't care about putting out a good product they just wanted new customers and canceled it as soon as they got their new customers. They turned around and did a deal with Friday Night Lights too that same year. If you were a DTV customer you got to see new episodes 4 months ahead of time and it was marketed as keeping the show alive.

I can't remember what the arrangement was.

March 12, 201412 yr Member Nope NBC was They were still taping at the same NBC lot in Century City, if I'm not mistaken.
March 12, 201412 yr Member Is it bad that I literally LOL'ed when I saw this headline? If you're bad so am I. PP spent so much time jerking fans around while they got in over their heads, suddenly started crying about big bad ABC, and being general douches that, while I feel a good deal of empathy for the innocent parties involved, I'm laughing my ass off at PP.
March 12, 201412 yr Member The people in charge of PP will likely come out of this unscathed so I'm not sure who is being laughed at, really.
March 12, 201412 yr Author Member They were still taping at the same NBC lot in Century City, if I'm not mistaken. Yes & NBC still produced or at least co-produced
March 12, 201412 yr Member Why would anyone even go to the trouble of switching TV subscribers just because of a show? Any show.

March 12, 201412 yr Member ?? Barely anyone would ever change their TV subscribers for one show, especially with streaming and YouTube, etc.
March 12, 201412 yr Member Barely anyone would ever change their TV subscribers for one show, especially with streaming and YouTube, etc. This was before all the episodes were put on youtube. And before it became super popular to stream tv shows. They decreased the amount of episodes airing to stretch out the run so they could keep viewers watching well into next year. The show was canceled in December 2007 on DTV and aired until August.
