I'm sure policies have changed since then but I can remember doing contract work at a TV show and there was an employee who had a sexual harrassment case pending and was still allowed to work there, while the case was being investigated. I don't know what resolution came out of it because when my contract period was up I moved on (it was the shi**tiest job I've ever had).

If it is a conduct/behavioral issue that is a he said/she said or he said/he said issue, it's difficult to say whether the action would be immediate.

Yes! I've had to backtrack and read to get caught up. I'm not going to lie, I've skimmed a few ranting posts and skipped others completely but it's mostly been riveting.

I have never been upset like some about a character/actor leaving, so I'm trying to understand the psychology behind all the hand wringing. I remember one year when I was a kid, 3 of my favorite actors left ATWT in the space of a few months. I didn't like it but I don't ever remember getting upset the way some are over this-- and I was pre-pubescent!

Right. I was a kid when Terry Lester was fired and I do remember being sad about that, but for the most part I didn't think much about most of the recasts on daytime until the net. Even now, I'm interested in the drama, but I can't say that I'm truly upset about any of the changes at Y&R this year and I liked most of the actors/characters that left or were fired.

Because of the internet there are no secrets in soaps anymore. Everything is outed before hand.

I remember Hearing about Sean Kanan may have to be replaced on GH in 97 then the next day there was Billy warlock and that was a surprise since his casting wasnt spoiled. I miss those days a lot

There is a lot of [!@#$%^&*] being placed at the door of some of the actors (Muhney included) and I personally think that crazy bloggers (side-eyes you-know-who) and fans have been pouring over MM's every last word in his Huff Post interview and jumping on anything to try and blame somebody, ANYBODY, for their darling boy getting fired. I re-read the bit about Eric Braeden, and whether he was involved with MM's firing. MM deflects the question completely; instead he uses MW as an example of how he would like to go out on his final days on set -- with grace and dignity. Then he says that any disagreements he ever had with EB are in the past.

I don't know if you can infer from THAT ^^ that EB got MW fired because she wouldn't put out! Even MM is not that talented a conversationalist.

The stans have gone after JFP for this... then when MM defended JFP in his interview, they went after Doug Davidson (after You-Know-Who told them to) and Steve Burton... then Eric Braeden... they are just trawling through the Y&R cast, past and present, just to find someone they can blame for this. Josh Morrow will probably be next. Because he must have been jealous!!!!

I hope MM is able to distance himself from some of these people. He needs some time to lick his wounds and keep his head down, methinks.

I think Nelson re-releasing that blind item AND asking MM specifically about Braeden so that he could say what he did about MW was in no way a coincidence. Perhaps it was even planned with MM. But I am glad Maura spoke out about it.

I am so annoyed by all the bloggers and website owners saying "there is more to it", inferring they know what happened, and yet not saying what it is. It's like "I know something you don't know. Na na na na na na!"

Spill it or stfu.

JMO.

Daytime dramas are a producers medium. The shows that allow the actors to control stories, casting etc, need a wake up call. I know not everyone likes Valentini but he doesnt allow shot at GH. We need more of that. Writers and producers like Monty, Riche, Raych, and Marland who didnt suffer fools gladly. These shows need to take the control back and tell certain actors if U dont like how its run here, the dooe is right there, Use it!!!

TL's exit wasnt big news in the mags then? I know he had stated before his death, he left cause he didnt like tht Bell was letting the teen scene take over the show

    • I'm thinking he's much older than the age he's playing and botoxed the hell out if his face - that's why it doesn't move. Source: I saw him in a 2012 episode of CSI. Not only was he already in his 20s, but his face moved back then.
    • I didn’t even think of that OMG Tomas not even pretty enough to make taking his “acting” palpable. And his two potential love interests are played by these genuinely charismatic actresses

. I think Martin’s flying off the handle so much is intentional and plays into the secret. The family seems to know theres some rage issues there.
    • I see a pattern here.

    • I liked when Felicia was over the top and was more Felicia the writer than Felicia the mother figure. Personal taste as always. For me, Felicia was AW to me. She was one of the few constants on a show that was constantly changing.  RIP Denise Alexander. I always liked her on the show despite her storyline never reaching its full potential. The sad thing is I would watch that storyline in a second over so much of what happened on AW from 1986 onwards. Strangely, youtube recommended a AW episode to me last night that involved Mary comforting Scott about Dawn. I really do wish they had found a way to make those two characters work long term.

    • Yes, I like him too. He is a good actor, and I agree with your comments about his personality. I also want to add, I think that he comes across as realistic and IMO sane. Yeah, he's done some bad things, but he seems pretty in control for the most part and not the least bit crazy. I appreciate that type of behavior in someone who can behave like a villain. And I continue to buy that he really does love his daughters. Unlike Leslie who seems to only use and mistreat Eva, I have seen Bill soften when it comes to his daughters. And I do believe he would do what he felt he had to do to protect them. His love for his children, helps make him more layered as a character. I really enjoyed his scenes with Dani today. I enjoyed the show today. I thought that the scenes with Nicole being comforted by both her parents including them switching out to comfort her were sweet and cute. I particularly enjoyed her scenes with Vernon. I love her relationship with her parents. I also liked Tomas/Eva scenes. He genuinely seems to care about her, and I am interested in seeing how things will play out between them and him and Kat.
    • Dani really got on my nerves. Her own life is a total disaster, yet she interferes with everyone else's. What could she possibly say to Ted that will change anything? That will help anyone? And as you said, while she bashes Bill, she wants him back -- all the while knowing who he is and who he's been for years. None of these scenes are pushing me to appreciate Dani. -- OTOH, Bill got some very good shots in at Dani. He won that face-off. -- June is just a ball of cliches and stereotypes to this point. I hope this goes somewhere. -- Martin flies off the handle much too easily, but I did appreciate that he grew calm and subdued, and even sad, with Ted. -- I'm glad Tomas is pretty, because damn, that acting. -- I'm glad Derek looks so good in tight jeans, because damn, that acting. -- LMAO at Leslie gaining entrance to Nicole's house because Nicole wanted the front door ajar so Door Dash could leave her takeout.

    • No, we would really do it.  Those pix were so famous! In early May 1970 Susan introduced Doug Williams to Julie. Her intent was evil. But, it backfired on her. Doug & Julie fell in love. Everyone knows the rest of this story.
    • Doesn't matter if its off topic. No need to point it out. Things will get back on topic soon enough. They always do . . . And I do love the off topic photos from the Bill Bell era!  So thanks.
