Yea Brenda had lousey timing for her book to come out. She bashed Jeanne in the first chapter...introduction without naming names. That's about all i read! It's funny, Jeanne rarely said anything bad about Brenda. She recalled one incident in her book but Brenda bashed Jeanne every chance she got in her book. and she hasn't come out publically saying anything about Jeanne's death. For me, i just said, "Well we know who's really the one with problems." Yes she was good for the show and they had legendary fights (Jil and Kay) but Jess has been very good too. The first half of Today's show showed the chemestry between Jess and Jeanne that was always there from the very begining.

I hated the second half with Paul and Christine's wedding. Right infront of Danny and Nina! It wasn't that long ago that Christine was with Danny again. Now she's with Paul again. I hope the marriage goes down the tubes fast because it's what Paul deserves by not choosing Nina.

That was nice of Dickson to acknowledge her passing. Somebody said that Dickson thought Cooper had actually died years ago...I don't know if that allegation is actually true or not but I could actually see it being real unfortunately. Regardless, Walton has successfully played the role for twenty-six years now.

Paul and Christine, regardless of how one thought they were boring actually in retrospect had an nice and realistic relationship for several years before the whole "was it rape?" twist that cheapened both characters. The Michael/Christine as colleagues works but the whole Kelly Simmons caper is best forgotten about.

I am just watching today's episode too, and I am crying during this wedding. It really does feel like Y&R right now, with so many old faces and revisiting so many of the old complicates relationships. Never in a million years did I think I would ever see Cricket and Paul married again, with Michael and Nina standing by their side! Wow!

I hope this means we get some more Lauralee now that Cricket has real roots in Genoa City again.

Danny's reactions during the whole thing were priceless.

I will say though, emotionally, I was actually a bigger wreck and Marge's funeral. I wish the same guest list could have been on this episodE: Dina, Traci, Ashley, Liz... their absences are greatly felt.

I liked it better than I was expecting and it was great to see old favorites. I especially liked Jill's portion and am forever grateful they devoted do much time to their relationship.

It didn't really bother me but Paul and Christine's wedding felt so out of place. I wish they had done it later personally even if it was tomorrow.

I kind of liked how they had Paul and Chris remarry......I really hope this means something, because they have to realize that now that Jeanne has passed Doug is now the longest running actor on the show.....I felt bad for Nina and Danny though.....

It really did feel like old times......I do indeed wish that Traci, Ashley and Dina were there though......I'm SHOCKED that Sharon wasn't there, though she probably wouldn't be as welcomed.......and it just it me, no Gloria or Jeff??.....

I liked when Jill called Chris "Cricket" when she was congratulating her.

Nikki and Jill were great at the end too, and I liked when they said "let's see how long this friendship will last", and then they see Katherine's "ghost", very touching.....

LOL, he looked better when he was rocking that 80's mullet! They reshowed his Facts Of Life episodes eariler in the year when he was Flyman. Pretty cool.

Now i'm looking foward to Katherine's will being read. and i'm very interested in why Katherine's first husband Gary Reynolds is being mentioned. Although i do question why Jill didn't just ask Brock about his father. If anybody would know about Gary now it would be Brock.

Wasn't Gary the one who actually started Chancellor industries. Then when he died, she met and married PHilip so he could run the business because people would repond more to a man (especially in the 1960's.) Then somehow when Brock died, Katherine ended up running it.

Nina and Neil are the obvious couple IMO. Nina would N-E-V-E-R even consider being with Paul considering Christine has been her best friend since childhood. That was a huge betrayal from a writing standpoint and it kills me that Nina and Christine weren't even on screen enough to properly play out the story. I still can't believe MAB did that story. Right now though, they need to put Lauralee Bell on contract if they plan on following through with Christine and Paul's marriage. She's a popular character and she deserves to be on the frontburner, as does Paul. It's time to bring her back.

    • There has been some confusion about Michael & facial burns. Please see this post: https://bsky.app/profile/shallotpeel.bsky.social/post/3lqkrryu54226 I've chosen to put this here instead of the Classic Thread because it is now with the appearance of recast Michael that this has come up. Different places online, including at least one podcast, remarks have been made about how remarkable it is that he is without facial scarring. Other fans say it was clear from the first that he did not have facial burns. What is included in this post is 2 screengrabs where you can see his face at the hospital & a very quick edit of that day in the hospital.
    • Put me in the LOVE KMH camp. As a poster alluded to above, her detractors seem to come from people who first experienced the 80s Emily actress. And that's often the case with soaps, myself included. I enjoy the original actor so much that I just never take to the recast. However, KMH played Emily far longer than the original - for almost 20 years - and when she had great material, she was great. I get the sense she didn't like playing the whiny oh-woe-is-me Emily which was all the material she got from about 1996 until she took over the Intruder in late '99/early '00 and got to play a stronger kiss-ass woman who didn't care what anyone thought of her. (Some would call that a bitch but, if a man was in that role, he'd just be called a smart and savvy businessman.) Her relationship with Hal was great. The transformation was done realistically and I thoroughly enjoyed those years the best out of all. Once the writers decided to break up those two, they went back to writing Emily half the time as whiny and pathetic. I preferred when the writers made her stronger.
    • Hahaha - I do. I've always been the type, though, that can't miss anything. I get FOMO, so I'll not skip episodes or fast forward anything. There are only a few TV shows I've dropped because they got so bad vs. sticking it out to the end.  The promise that GL 1997 is better is what keeps me going. I especially want to see the fallout of Blake's lie about her twins and then Annie's descent which I believe won Watros's Emmy.
    • Rita's rape is an episode i constantly search on YouTube hoping one day that it will show up. I always feel like I may have seen it, but I was only 6 at the time and can never figure any of the things I have vague recollection of

    • The rape was in 1979 after they were married. Blake was the result of Holly cheating with him while she was married to Ed. I believe she was born in 1975.
