Kristen raping Eric doesn't bother me in the least, for two reasons:

1. Eric was boring and an awful recast but is now interesting

2. Kristen using some secret formula to do it is so 90s DiMera and in that era of DAYS you excused anything, and by calling back to that they can do the same thing today.

Holy crap I have all of last week to catch up on. Damn. I scanned a bit sounds like it was a pretty good week! I'm actually excited to watch again (well, I have been for a while but honestly, since January, and minus like a bit of spring - the Chloe [!@#$%^&*] - the show has been damn good).

Eric and Kristen look hot as hell. Though I kinda wish I didn't scan this thread, LOL, oh well. I knew what I was getting into!

The rape of a priest seems like a strange move by both Kristen and the writers. They should've made it that Eric succumbed to lust all on his own and slept with Kristen. Priests will willfully give in to lust sometimes, and Kristen's revenge against Marlena should have been something else. It's "funny" that Eric's storyline was expected by some people to be a "Thorn Birds" type storyline with Nicole, but instead Eric is raped by a crazed DiMera. It'll be interesting to see where this goes from here, because despite a good portion of the audience not liking Eric as a priest, he clearly took his priesthood very seriously. I cringe at the thought of Eric remembering what really happened to him. I also don't think Eric is going to become the stud that a lot of people wants him to be. If anything, because of this storyline, I see Eric coming off like a victim (which he is) for a very long time.

While I can buy a lot of stuf on this show - Eric as a priest, Brady with kristen, i am not sure no matter how well crafted the story was I could buy Eric being seduced by Kristen. Maybe - maybe - initially if that had happened instead of Brady, but even then thatd be pushing it. Eric has always been the good guy and loved his mother, and I just dont think it would of him at all to ignore everything kristen did to her in the past, and now with brady and john and messing with sami as well.

I think making him a priest was an interesting idea but nothing was much done with it aside from a reason he couldnt have sex with Nicole. Then again, I like they they didnt bring him on and push him into a main story right from the start and i feel like we got to know GV as Eric and Eric again to invest in him. I want to know why he became a priest though, and io hope that is explored through this. I loved how seriously he took being a priest and i hope we see a lot of his sturgles through all aspects of this story.

Im not sure why he cant be a stud and be a victim. Sami was raped once, it hasnt stopped her from being paired up in hot and popular romances.

I'm with Jack. Eric being seduced by Kristen of all people wouldn't have worked for me. I also really respect that he took his vows as a priest seriously despite me not liking it and would rather he not have betrayed that for sex

i dont think eh will ever be banging every piece of ass in salem, but i dont think that would ever be the cast with eric as it never was like him befire nor now.

Its weird how many kristen/eric stans there are and how people are saying her raping him was sexy and hot.

The scene was filmed with focus on passion (in that moment), so I'm not surprised at some of the reactions. I just wonder what the aftermath will be. I thought Greg Vaughan did a good job in the scenes, like the stuff where he was having tremors when Nicole found him.

    • So many things would have had to be different for Mary to want to go back to Reginald. It could have been interesting if it had been handled completely differently but as it was we had a very black and white Mary good/Reginald bad. If she had been able to ignore his worldly crimes and how he treated his own children there was still the fact that he had separated her from her children. Maybe if they had shown us more intimacy and affection between them and had allowed him to have real vulnerabilities it could have worked but as it played out they didn't do much to present him with any sympathetic hook. There are a lot of ways to define wanting things to work. Fans are mostly thinking of preserving or restoring characters and an atmosphere that drew them to the show. The sponsor may only be thinking of the bottom line. When a producer or HW comes in and decides that their vision will deliver for the bottom line and they need to fire most of the cast in order to do it it can feel very much like not caring.
    • I remember this getting a lot of criticism at the time.
    • Maeve breaks me reading that letter. If you ever need to cry, look it up. Other than the dopey line about Henry wanting to come home to Van's rice (or tapioca) pudding (VANESSA CHAMBERLAIN DOES NOT COOK, Y'all...) it's a sweet sign-off to one of the best father/daughter relationships on soaps. Other than Ross, and Bill (if he says something, which I assume he does) and the letter, the rest of it is BS. I haven't watched it in a while, but it typifies what I dislike most about events that should be laden in history. The writers are too lazy to do the work and get it right. And it becomes about making sure characters X, Y and Z make their guarantees. Roger being there is an abomination. Henry never ever saw Nola as a gold-digger. She and Quint were practically engaged before he even knew Quint was his son. Before that, he was fairly close to Bea and enjoyed Nola's spirit. And Henry never helped Rick become an Eagle Scout.  I get that maybe you don't want to play Amanda#1 or Dinahs 1&2, or Billy, Trish or Alan #1 clips, but damn it....don't make stuff up. I'd have much rather watched clips from Henry, Vanessa and Ross' early days than Rick blather on, or nuMichelle try and dig for a human-like emotion or wonder why after TEN YEARS, Dinah and Quint have never met.   Do not remember anyone named Tina. I barely remember Dahlia, and that's mostly because for a while, I saw Sharon Leal in everything after she left GL.   Reva and Josh airhogs? ALWAYS, darling. ALWAYS. RME. I hate to tar and feather Robert Newman with that brush, but DAMN.
    • Oooooooooooooo a Jazmen script off of a Sara Bibel breakdown.    I'm intrigued. Lol. Yeah, one thing I can say for sure...when SilkPress is about to have a crazy moment, they do give her music.
    • I am so happy now. Reminds me of the 80s show I loved. Ron really did the cast and fans dirty. The only people complaining are those who only knew Ron and his whiplash plot driven stories
