I'd like it if they made a joke about the guitar riff...just make a video with random scenes and then guitar interrupting for no reason. That would make me laugh in its ridiculousness.

Like when JR's fingers moved for the first time? Or when David vowed at the gravesite that there would be hell to pay? :)

I guess so many of David's children have died they needed to specify the cause.

I think that there are elements of websoaps which AMC and OLTL should learn from, but honing in on Venice just seems like an attempt at starfucking or brownnosing. It also seems like a waste of a radio show.

Can someone out there who has their own radio show talk about how AMC and OLTL will only thrive if they bring in Melanie Smith, Kathryn Hays, Maeve Kinkead, Lisa Brown, Stephen Schnetzer, Helen Gallagher, Don Hastings, Sarah Felder, etc. For me?

Ha! They also seemed to conveniently leave out the fact hat Venice and Devanity (their other favorite) has about ten episodes a year...

"Ruined the brand"? I wouldn't have gone THAT far. But I did think the video was typical of individuals who possess a narrow-minded view of soaps and who are too lazy or ignorant (or whatever) not only to look beyond the stereotypes and tell what ELSE soaps are about, but also to realize that the better soap operas, in fact, don't do all the crazy [!@#$%^&*] that the video lampooned. I felt that there was a way to make that kind of video that would have been fun and light-hearted without "going there." And I wish I had said that last night instead of making that outrageous, offensive analogy. sad.png

That makes sense to me. But--I do think, as has been pointed, out it is important to realize it was largely made for fans already watching the videos, not people new to soap operas. As well, I thought they were mocking the stereotypes an clichés many people place on soaps--not their show itself. *shrug*

Based on that video, I get the impression that Rob Wilson is the most sought after piece of ass on the set. First Jill, now Cady, that guy has got all the old women (myself included) wanting to break of a piece of Mrs. Wilson's baby boy.

So went onto the Devious maids website, and see that the Lea marquez actress is a cast member.. could explain how she was able to talk to Susan Lucci and ask if she was coming back. I'm wondering if her part in DM isn't as large as SL, hence why she was able to start work on AMC during the 2nd filming cycle.

Yes, Lea Marquez aka actress Paula Garces, is murdered in the first episode of Devious Maids. The murder mystery is a significant storyline in the first season.

This was awesome. LOVED the effects work & sound effects laugh.png

OMG when they did the freeze frame introduction's on AJ/Miranda, accompanied w/the guitar riff laugh.pnglaugh.pnglaugh.png I just completely love it now. They even did it on Adam laugh.pnglaugh.png

Ha I wish I could see what y'all are talking about. The youtube recaps seem to just be the ones from More (although the week three one does have the hostess in a set for Tempo Magazine, interestingly.)

In that Jill Larson and Rob interview, Jill says she filmed the first 10-15 weeks of scenes in her house in the first days (!) so I guess we still will get a lot of material shot early on? "We had to begin production before the end of February for legal reasons so I shot the first 10-15 weeks of episodes in the first few days as Opal's house was one of the first built."

I enjoy her voice, she's a good singer. :)

I thought this was interesting

Jill- We have an agreement to go through one cycle which was originally through October but has ow been extended to November. There will be 52 weeks of shows instead of 42 so no downtime as was planned before. This is a huge experiment. They're making it up as they go along but in the best way. We know that it's hard for everyone not to go to "cancellation" thoughts initially but please know that Prospect Park believes in the shows. They hope this is the beginning of the next 40 years. They are exploring and discovering things to make this a reality. Try not to be scared.

This too

Jill- When I found out that I was going to be required to do so many Facebook posts and Tweets I hired a young woman named Bren to teach me. I have really taken to it and love to have immediate contact with the fans.
