Yeah, maybe so. Scotty asked the question, it's not like EB brought SB up, and when he responds truthfully, he gets rude Tweets for having the gall to not know who SB is?? Come on now. I don't see why it's so unbelievable that a man of his age and ego and position at Y&R wouldn't know much about soaps beyond his own.

Braeden probably doesn't even know or care who half of the current Y&R cast is.

He's never been an "industry person," meaning he rarely mingles with those in the industry or attends public events. For example, he didn't even attend the Emmy's the year he won.

He's not even a fan of daytime soaps, and given his age, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't know who Burton is. I mean, he might recognize him by face, but I don't think it's strange that he would draw a total blank by his name alone.

Exactly. I was going to say this but I feared that I might be painting him a little too harshly. The fact of the matter is, we as fans should not project our knowledge of these shows on the people who actually work on them. Soaps may be a passion or a great interest of ours, but for a lot of the people who are employed by them, they are first and foremost a JOB.

Between the stunt casting and the changes in regime, how many people has EB seen come through that show and they were gone before he even had to learn who their names were? That reaction from No2souls was just so pitiful. Talking about Steve Burton like he's some force to be reckoned with.

He did? LOL!

EB takes heat for things he doesn't even intend or say. Is there some rule that everyone must know who Burton is? Good lord he's not Susan Lucci. Braeden is egotistical, abrasive, opinionated, but he's also genuinely good and respectful to fans for the most part. I saw nothing wrong in that tweet. It wasn't nasty.

I know it's a UO but I like EB. He's one of the more upfront and straightfoward actors I've seen in the business even if that means he's egotistical, abrasive, and opinionated. With Braeden you pretty much know what you're getting even if you don't like it.

Of course this brings us back to the Twitter soap verse and that's just an ocean of crazy.

As long as Braeden does not coerce his fans to buy Monavie, he is golden compared to Burton as far as I am concerned.

If Burton and/or his fans think that they can bring their brand of crazy to Y&R, they are in for a shock. He and JFP will be gone before that Y&R cabal goes any where.

I didn’t hate Jason but GH desperately needed to be rid of him and I’m thrilled to see that he won’t be returning. I don’t have anything against Burton and don’t care why he left; I’m just glad he did. I’m so happy I don’t even mind admitting I was wrong when I said that Michael Easton/John McBain had never contributed anything of value to any show. To my great surprise, he was actually good in the scenes with Robert/Anna/Faison (not “not awful” but “good”), but much, much more important -- the mere possibility that he in any way factored into SB’s decision to leave GH proves to me that ME/JM has in fact done something of great value for GH.

    • I heard the first episode. I will be back after I've listened to more.
    • Even though I wasn't watching GL in real time by then, I was happy that MZ got his long-awaited for Lead Actor Emmy. MZ deserved more wins than the one he got. He wasn't nominated in 1991 but should have been and I think he could have won that year, and I also think he should have won in 1992.
    • How did you guys feel about Devon with Mark Dalton?  I believe so. Brooke needed a storyline that played on her history at that time. I could have seen Brooke fall for him now that she has grown up.
    • Forgive me because this stretches the topic a bit, but I cannot stop thinking about this line in Barbara Rush's (aka AMC Tad's doppelgänger's Ted's mother Nola Orsini & Flamingo Road's Eudora Weldon) wiki bio.

The quote comes from an article about Rush's daughter Claudia Cowen who is a reporter for Fox News.  Rush's ex-husband was one of the biggest publicists in Hollywood.  And, she had a famous house in Bel Air.  But, I want to know how at 70 years old, she wound up at the Lloyd Estate, which is huge, and had been owned by Ron Burkle and Ted Field.  The house was worth 60 million dollars in 2001.  But, I cannot find the story of why/when/how she lived there, because whenever she gets asked about it, she always says that she was “staying” there, not that she bought it. BTW, for those that may not know.  Her ex-husband, Warren Cowen, wound up marrying the mother of Sarah Gilbert (Roseanne & The Talk), as well as her siblings Melisa and Jonathan Gilbert (Little House on the Prairie).  So, Ms. Rush did not get her money from him, because she got remarried to a sculptor of minimal reknown, and they divorced in 1973. Ms. Rush died last year with dementia.

    • That's right, Kim Zimmer was pregnant with Jake Weary when Reva was pregnant with Shayne.  I don't think I've seen a photo of Mr. Weary, but from what I can tell Jake looks so much like his mother.
    • The show of late has had me in hog heaven, LOL! But, really, my soaps & I are getting along just fine.  GH is excellent. BTG is beyond fabulous. DAYS is so much better.  What more could I possibly ask for? I know, 30 hours in a day?!!!
    • At the start of 1982 under Ellis/Hunt (on CBS) SFT was solidly in the middle of the 13 soaps pulling in between a 7.5 and 6.5 with high 20s share. The final week on CBS the show garnered a 6.3/23. The first week on NBC and mostly thereafter, the ratings were in the middle 3s with a 12 share! I I think under Tomlin 1 and under Glynn the show might have hit over a 4 and 14 but one week only or so.  Capitol didn't get those numbers until middle of summer and in the first few months hit the 4s and low 5. By year end it was in the low 6s/23 share but struggled for the remainder of its run.   NBC's Search was never going to get 6 / 23 shares but when they were solidly in the high 3s and 12/13 share they invariably fired the writers and producer. Dumb.
    • Wasn't there talk of bringing back Dan Kennicott at some point?  Like, sometime during the late '90's or early '00's?
