Dallas was before my time so I knew him from I Dream of Jeannie first however I did see him on Dallas via Soapnet and CMT.

Larry Hagman was a true television legend. And the fact that he was in Dallas filming with his beloved friends Linda Gray & Patrick Duffy right up until the day he died, makes a true professional.

No one ever wore a cowboy hat like JR Ewing did, and no one ever will.

I am heartbroken. I feel like all of my excitement and hope for Dallas 2.0's second season has been gut punched right out of me. Larry Hagman's J.R. was so special, so wry and smooth, and I always enjoyed hearing about his bts pranks and hijinks. My heart goes out to his family and dear friends. A true TV Legend is gone.

Just cant believe it! If they continue with Dallas, not saying the show is more important than his family, will continue? OMG! I feel so bad for Linda Gray, Duffy, and the rest! A true legend.

I wasn't excited at all for the new season...and this news just makes my enthusiasm that much less.

Meanwhile, I am so heartbroken (but not surprised) to hear this news. My condolences to his loved ones. J.R. Ewing and his shenanigans always will reign supreme in my soap memories. :(

To be married to the same woman, especially in Hollywood, for over 55 years is quite amazing.

I remember Linda Grey once talking about how she lost a lot of her friends after her divorce, and Larry and his wife stuck by her and helped her cope.
