Fair enough. Daniel's such a waste, and it is a shame that if she was going to share the spotlight with someone in this story he was chosen. Ironically, I think GT & CW gave the whole climax to Nicole on Thurs. and Fri., which was totally counter to whatever interest they were trying to drum up with Daniel & Jenn Round II.

Thanks so much, that's so nice of you!

She definitely works better as a sympathetic antagonist. It was unnerving for me to watch her in the 'partners in crime' role with EJ when DRT & MMcP started, just because of their sordid history. But they really displayed they didn't 'get' Nicole when they made her a heroine with a victim complex--she lost a lot of her A-list relevance when they were writing and it was so misconceived.

Once GT & CW came aboard, it was like Nicole instantly reclaimed her 'it status' and was back to her old self being a bitch and mixing it up with everyone again. Apart from her unfortunate obsession with Daniel, it looks like this regime really knows how to write for her.

However, I'm still pulling for Brady & Nicole!!! But I'm looking forward to Eric's return, with one of my fav. soap actors (but I would prefer GV back at GH as Lucky!).

This show is so boring. Camp it up Tomlin/Whitesell!!!! And there's no build up to anything. What is there to anticipate that can be revealed in February, or May, or whenever? Nothing. T&W are three months in, and there's no long term plans, there's nothing to look forward to in the future.

IA. There's no "It Story," like there had been with the baby switch. Now, you could argue they're just setting up how they want this show to "look" or "feel." However, if you ask me, you could do that and give the viewers a potboiler simultaneously. You just have to look at which story (or "story") has the most "heat" and then keep adding fuel to it.

I'm glad for Eric's return. Much needed and with an appealing actor. Finally.

I don't mind Rafe anymore but really, what's his purpose going to be? Zzzz. They should have kept Carrie and moved Austin in another direction. Both characters are still vital if written right. MarDar tried with them.

I also think Mike has long needed to be on the canvas. Same for Laura and Bill. Bill has connections and John Martin was well-received. Laura now has Kristen/Kate/Marlena all on the canvas to interact with. Jennifer and Abby are on and Laura was very close and protective of them. Laura's absence is actually becoming glaring.

I love it, too, to the extent that DAYS has a warm, community feel again, and the ongoing "stories" are weighted more in character and less in camp. But would it kill this team to give us just one juicy "water-cooler story" that isn't over before it really begins?

While i sppreciate the attempt at clean up and ending stories from the previous regeme, it has taken far too long to really get their own stuff going and being a good soap. I do agree about what you said, totally. I do think they thought the Nic/Jen story was the big soapy, dramatic story and it was in terms of on paper - Nicole loses her child, Jen has set herself up to be believed as someone who could push nicole down stairs, nicole uses this to lie and set her up, dan saves jen by giving his life up to nicole. the problem is it fell flat and a majority of people hated it and it happened too soon after jack and was just thrown together.

I am very much interested in where the Kristen story and the Gabi story are going. I am hopeful they will bring the drama, the juice that is missing.

The really strong part of the show is that Salem is a community again. But I think Kristians return has been lackluster and I'm sorry I like Nick and I'm just disappointed to see how they have decided to use him. I am glad that the younger set is getting some significant story but not excited about another pregnancy storyline.I feel like they are trying to create Pine Valley but they don't have the types of characters and charm and quirkiness on this show to be able to do it.

I do think they've done a decent job with characters like Brady who kind of needed to be back burned, but they've actually used him pretty well in a supporting role. Nicole's writing is significantly better. Sami the heroine and the woman all men chase doesn't work for me. I wish they'd dump Daniel and EJ is just blah to me these days but then in some ways the character doesn't work for me anymore.

    • Leslie is an extreme liar and manipulator. I'm not sure what her point was in trying to convince Nicole she wasn't trying to hurt her. As much as Eva did help orchestrate the entire plot I feel like there was too much piling on. Eva never said she wanted to be a Dupree so Anita was extremely out of line for that comment.

That's positive and something to look forward to for sure, because you're right, 1996 so far isn't nearly as good as 1995. Ohh - what is Lonatrat?  Sadly you're probably right. I did feel like David was rarely seen once Marcus came on. That would have been an interesting spin, having Frank and Tina be teenage lovers and Dahlia really being his daughter. I'm getting the sense that Tina won't be seen too much anymore, as she just left Dahlia with Frank/Eleni as she's heading to jail for a while. I like the Tina actress too!  Her voice sounds a bit like Rosie Perez to me, which I love. I tried to find her online, but coming up empty. This was the only thing I could find about Tina Crede - a character snapshot video with clips and stills of her (randomly starting just before the 1:00 mark):

That's wild that the David actor is nearly 40 here! Definitely surprises me.
    • 5-6   Meh. It already looks like a scattershot week.    5-5 was actually a good episode. Damian and Lily. Phyllis finally going on the warpath that I knew she could get on with Billy and Sally. Nate started to question Audra and Victor's alliance. And I was not even bugged by Kyle and Claire.   But then there's Cole's off-screen story. Kyle and Claire going back to being whiny. And them even wanting Adam's penthouse just sounded like trying to keep the set around. And Diane shouldn't even give a flying frak about Billy's opinion. And Tessa, Daniel, and the guitars...yeeeah no.   But hey...JM looked good in that short. And those pants.  I agree. One of Y&R's good points with fans has always been that you do at least see the vets. And IN stories.
    • One of the things that I found unnecessary and a bit disturbing about Ambitions was that in almost every episode someone was holding or shooting a gun.  Jamey and Ron seem to have the same fetish.
    • I had thought that there was a Tommy Biddles on there, but then I realized I was thinking of Dr. Biddles on Santa Barbara. Never mind!

    • I have watched the scene where Vanessa reads the letter and it's lovely, but I'm really glad now that I never got around to watching the funeral. Henry ADORED Nola! He treated her like a daughter and Stacy like a granddaughter. That's why Vanessa couldn't stand her. He was crazy about all the Reardons. He spent a lot of time at the boarding house. He and Bea--they never explicitly said it was romantic, but they certainly were loving friends. This sounds worse than Bert's funeral. I really did not think that was possible.
    • It always bothered me from the start that Nicole just took Mona's suggestion and never checked references.  A real psychiatrist would have done more before hiring someone. ** I like that Kat's reporter/investigative type instincts caused her to be suspicious of Eva from the start, and to try to spy on Eva and catch her as weeks went by. However, I think that Kat's so focused on what Eva did wrong -- that she won't see that Leslie is the master manipulator, making some things appear different than they actually are. I hope that Shanice's natural snoopy nature will get her to figure out what actually happened to Laura, and who really caused all the problems. *** edit to add: The show never specified what Mona's job was for Nicole.  Home manager?  Office manager?  Head personal assistant?  I'm sure there would have been a title?    Mona asserted today her upset with Eva and with Leslie.  That they used her and ruined her reputation.  I just wish I knew what Mona's job was. If Mona was an official manager, then it would have made sense for Nicole to trust the recommendation, if Nicole thought Mona had done a proper hiring procedure.  But if Mona is just an informal helper, then why wouldn't Nicole order a background check?
    • And I'm here for it.   Also...YES, PLEASE.
