Never watched this show, but I'd think that the best example is Jo and Stu on SFT.

Viki and Larry (they were in-laws, but I think it still counts)

I know alot don't like this one, but I loved Viki and David's friendship on OLTL

AMC:

Tom and Brooke became better friends after their marriage. Brooke often became better friends with her Exs whereas Erica "wanted to stuff and mount them" stated Brooke at one time.

Jenny and Jesse - the summer they escaped to NY - when Jenny died, Jesse even had his own montage of memories to Jenny to the song "Good-bye my friend, good-bye my love."

I thought the show played off the long history of friendship between Tad/Angie/Jesse.

Barbara and Tad were cute together, and they thought of exploring a romantic relationship, but Tad was supportive of Barbara after Laura died, and it sealed their friendship.

my understanding always was that Tad and Jesse weren't friends cause of the Liza factor and that it's Darnell's return in '08 is when they actually became friends.

or am I wrong LOL

I thought of them too, I'm glad someone else remembered. I left them out because of the romantic component, but I enjoyed their interactions.

And I knew someone would mention Viki and David, dragonflies! Blech!
