He has made a very handsome salary on the show - if the show had gone to an hour, by union rules, the show would have had to increase the actors' salaries by 40% and it would have made Ronn the highest paid actor is soapland, even over Susan Lucci. He also has a healthy income from outside projects overseas. The man doesn't need to work another day in his life, but if he wants to work, he can still find plenty of work internationally. If he doesn't, then he can simply enjoy early retirement - he isn't that far off. Brad doesn't know how to budget, and CBS has been slashing away since the mid 2000s. The show is doomed - the one thing it had going for it was its international appeal, and as Brad chops away at the veterans, when CBS decides to pull the plug, he won't have any of the actors left to keep it afloat overseas. SF, JMc, RM, KKL and HT have been paid well, but they have also made the Bells a fortune. If Brad learned to stay in budget, maybe the actors would be more willing to take cuts - and just because no one else has walked yet, doesn't mean there aren't more problems brewing - but Brad literally throws money down the drain with his lack of ability to get scripts in on a timely manner, which causes a domino effect on production and costs.
