Lauren absolutely has what it takes for primetime, she did a guest shot last year on Criminal Minds...my dream for her is to ride the soaps till they die, then land a recurring gig on something glossy till she's had enough of the business.

I have watched her from her first days in daytime, 1984-1986 on Y&R as Lindsay Wells, Jack's desperate ex-girlfriend who ended up selling photos of Jack & Jill to Katherine that she ended up sending to John Abbott, leading to the implosion of John and Jill's first round at marriage. I then followed her to B&B as Margo Lynley, 1987-1992, conflicted fashion designer with a razor edge with the Spencers, the only legitimate threat to Stephanie ever on the show, torn between Eric and Ridge (and Clark and Bill...)

And I've been a days watcher for decades, so I saw Adair as Kate, but definitely prefer Koslow by many miles, she appeared on screen January 1996. Koslow would have been great on 'Dynasty' in the role Adair played, Tracey Kendall, or as Dana Waring Carrington (played by Leann Hunley). And had Sela Ward not been on Emerald Point NAS she would have been great in that part too. Where she really would have been interesting would have been 'Knots Landing' or 'Dallas' since they played things a bit straighter, which Koslow is definitely capable of handling.

She brings a certain sadness to her roles, yet also fierce determination to survive. Plus, she's sexy, which, at 59, is not easily accomplished.

I absolutely agree with you, and I say this as somebody who loved Deborah Adair in the role of Kate.

However, Deborah Adair's Kate belongs to a very different Days IMO, a pre-Reilly aesthetic and an era when HWs were not in love with their villains to the point where they tried to make them their heroes. DA's Kate was kind as well as competent. She fit in with the Hortons and Bradys, with a sweet-natured Austin and plucky heroine Billie. She fit in with a complex, underrated Victor who saw her vulnerability and protected it. Of course, at the time he wasn't just a grumpy kingpin, he was mysterious, with ambiguous motives, who loved his nephew Justin and who wanted to turn his company legit. Hence Titan and Basic Black.

Lauren Koslow -- well, I took time to warm to her. Not because she was an incompetent actress or anything, but because she was so different. That's because by the time she arrived, Days was going head-first in having a lot of comedy and parody in its plots. Days was completely different.

I slowly warmed to LK but it is only in the last decade or so that I have really fallen in love with her characterization. Right now she is by far and away my fave character on the show, her scenes with Joseph Mascolo are compelling, full of love, sensuality, but also secrets and games. It is very intoxicating to watch. Add silver fox Ian Buchanan in the mix with this Mad World SL and I am totally sold. LK is Days' MVP -- she fits into so many other SLs with ease. Her interaction with Sami draws on years of complex history every time, her scenes with Sami's kids funny, natural and brilliant, she and Sarah Brown play great off of each other. Not to mention if Days ever brought back John Martin as Bill Horton, it would be FIYAH. That tangled history with the Hortons is just waiting to be tapped some more.

P.S.: I could totally see Lauren Koslow on Revenge as Queen Victoria's sister... or possibly Emily's long-lost mother.

Johnny "Because Allie, Mommy made him mad" LMAO! I just loved the way he said that

Loving Will and Marlena's relationship. They are fun and she's so giddy to have a little gay sidekick

WOW! Kayla's a doctor? I COMPLETELY forgot. What a downgrade from her to go from practicing medicine to spending the last several weeks tending tables....LOL. What a waste of her talents and the show definetly has not been utilizing her well during this last return at all

Not every character needs to be in front burner stories. I like how Kayla is being used as a supporting character and she's a familiar face. She's there for her family and that adds a lot to the show. I don't think MBE is on contract, so this is a good way to use her as a recurring actress.

    • Keith D Robinson is 49. Maurice Johnson is 46.
    • I hope they give him more to do than just be a prick as you say. I can see how viewers would like him because the actor is so charming despite the character being such an absolute pain.    I would agree. And there was also the undercurrent of Raven and Draper sort of flirting with each other. The actors play that attraction and it worked so well in that scene.
    • Daniel Cosgrove is PERFECT as the sleezy politician. This might be my favorite role of his. All of these people keeping Kristina’s secret is so annoying. I really want her to pay.
    • What did happen to Beth between 86 and 89? Did she have amnesia?
    • I actually thought he came off as younger. It's so hard to buy Martin as Nicole and Ted's son unless they had him when they were 12.
    • @chrisml Isn't remarkable that, on a soap whose brand is built on twists and mysteries, that Raven's last straw was as simple as Logan saying that she was incapable of loving Jamey.  In the episode when Raven exit's and leaves Jamey with April, I can remember feeling the subtext that Raven is also trying to talk herself into leaving him behind.  There's so much in that little scene.  She's trying to stick it to Logan for saying she was a bad mother.  She's both granting April's wish, and damning her with the old adage of being careful what she wished for.  And, she's hinting to Draper that she's going to boff his father. It remains my favorite scene, and it still blows my mind that was not the end of that episode.
    • Oh lord not Drew just figured out it was both Nina and Portia that set him up. Willow WILL never leave this man. Ric taking the case purely just to spite Sonny is [!@#$%^&*].ing hilarious.
    • And in addition to Patti being de-aged, she was no longer a nurse, divorced from Len(fair enough) and her two children were not seen and barely mentioned. So basically she was a totally new character. For newer viewers it didn't matter but any loyal viewers would have been wondering about all the changes with Patti. Sarah Whiting always puzzled me. The writers finally decide to acknowledge Jo's family and do so by making up a never mentioned adopted teen. Why not just bring in Tracey, Jo's actual grandaughter? As for Liza, perhaps it would have been wise to rest the character when Sherry left. They were big shoes to fill and her Liza was so identified with Travis. I don't recall what was going on in the story at that time but if they knew Sherry was leaving, write it so Liza would leave town to care for an ailing Janet and take a breather with the character for a few months.
    • Ahh interesting. Yeah, that's sad for A-M. I will say, he and Nick became fast friends when Susan started working at Spaulding. A-M/Lucy/Nick/Susan had a lot of double dates in those 7 months. A-M was Nick's best man at his wedding to Susan, which now that I think about it, is odd that he wouldn't have considered Fletcher. I remember those two were so close at the paper, and even living together with Ben. Once Tangie left SF, Nick left the paper, and Fletcher/Holly were rarely seen... so I guess they felt that friendship wasn't shown often enough anymore (which again, lazy writing).
    • I honestly don't think Alan-Michael ever really had a friend on the show. Maybe Cameron or Samantha, but otherwise... *Cameron was a high school friend who ended up dating teenage Dinah after she broke up with A-M. Samantha is Phillip's biological sister, who A-M treated like a sister. Interestingly enough, they were born the same week on the show in 1981, but A-M ends up being older than her when she returns to town in '89.
