He should have just left Jack to face the consequences of his actions, not use this information to blackmail him to get what he wants. Todd, Clint, Victor, Bo, Matthew, Ford, John and Rex. They're all terrible "father figures." I've never seen a soap have so many awful fathers at one time, not even on Y&R.
