And wha??  I wanna hear more about this bomping Agnes story!  Maybe that's why she was gone so quickly lol

Perhaps, lol.  From what I can recall, even Jean Passanante, who was in the room when it occurred, was like, "I can't BELIEVE she did that!".

Truthfully, I haven't thought much about Elizabeth Page ever since she wrote an article for some publication about how hard life was for her and her family during the last WGA strike.  "No more dinners at fancy restaurants, no more $300 haircuts!"  Karen, please!

and of course Passanante apparently broke her contract to quit early--why?

Wasn't it rumored that it had something to do with Michael Conforti, who had joined the staff as co-HW (I think?)?

Did Michael think her writing was shitty like we all did?

That's a fantastic interview.  He said he did not like working with her, but also implied he was ready to leave.  Broderick gave him the job at GL (I think he claimed he didn't remember writing a thing) because he needed less than a year more work to get full benefits or a full pension or something from the WGA, and Broderick basically gave him the job as a kind gesture.

I'm sure he did ;) That does make sense though.  I guess my issue with the Real Housewives is the very little I've watched never give me a sense of families made up of generations, families at all really (despite appearances by some family members), a diversity in tone, etc.  But I do get ya ;)

His other show married to medicine has a very family feel to it.

Did Daniel Cosgrove's Scott and Cornelius Smith Jr's Frankie have any scenes together?  I'm watching old episodes from 1987 and I had forgotten that Scott and Frankie were BFFs and actually lived in the Hubbard home when they were younger.

i believe they did in the last year when cosgrove started dating Madison.

That was one of the most mind-boggling story turns I've ever seen. Yes, let's pair the woman with the man who killed her daughter. No, no it's okay because he has a new face! And is a reverend now! How the hell did any of that get through story meetings or network approval? Ghastly.

This show did Brooke and Julia Barr such a disservice. Brooke was so hard for them to write after a point. They had a hard time writing for any woman over 40 that wasn't Erica.

this. It makes me so mad looking at old episodes, so many wasted opportunities.

Well, I enjoyed how you could have high comedy and intense drama all in one episode on AMC.

But besides the playing of the Ouija board or a seance (I read an episode summary from the ‘70s that had little Tad trying to summon spirits w/ Grandma Kate; and we all know about Myra’s seances w/ Nina), I don’t want that lowbrow, lazy sci-fi crap in Pine Valley.

Those Real Housewives shows are truly most like AMC out of any soap (less interesting, of course).

agreed! I always felt nene and kandi rivalry mirrors that of Erica And Brooke without the men.

Yes, I think you are right.  I vaguely remember this.

One of the episodes SL submitted for when she won her Emmy:

I was looking back at this thread and I \cannot\ with Travis and Barbara's smugness. They had more of a role raising Bianca, and if anyone were to blame for her issues...it was them, not Erica (who always loved Bianca).

Socorro Santiago was way too good for such a paper-thin role.

That recast of Isabella Changed her fr the worst
