I think there is a way to write a story that unfolds for years yet can still be fast-paced. OLTL has told short stories in the last few years that seem to go on forever because they are such a mess and made up as they go along (I can't say with AMC because I haven't watched regularly in recent years).

Frons is such an !@#$%^&*], hes the worst kind of scum on the planet as he killed ABC soaps. What he did was he took away the visionary like the Wendy Riche or Linda Gottlieb away from ABC and got figureheads to do his dirty work. Honestly cancelling both is just like him to do. AMC being cancelled doesn't affect me the way OLTL getting cancelled. OLTL is one of my all time favorite soaps. I used to watch for years and years and it saddens me that it will no longer be here. Its so weird AMC will go before OLTL which means OLTL lived longer. OLTL I am so happy it made it to the final soaps on air. Today is truly the end of a genre and era. Its OVER. Llanview will go off into the sunset forever and I am so tearing up to watch the finale. These soaps will forever live in SOAP legacy. The new soaps on the air are BRAVO'S The Housewives. These are the new soaps on air, we have Real Housewives of BH, NY, NJ and look at Jersey Shore the show has big numbers. Its a reality TV land.

I agree. I really do. But I just hope they don't decide to move these stories even faster which I'm afraid they will to fit everything in. I can't wait to see what RC and FV come up with. I am not sorry I started watching this show lat year and only mad at myself for not getting into it sooner

Wondering if LoBRo brings MCE to give Annie/JR thier happy ending. Or JR ends all alone.

TBQH I think we'll see w/ AMC ending, Lucci's final storyline most likely will be the character's curtain call. That would signal the end of AMC. Erica Kane dies peacefully.

    • Assuming that Marland had been allowed to write the Carrie story the way he'd envisioned, Millette would've been involved in the story. And she might've played a role in Andy Norris' return (if the speculation on that had ever materialized, and Marland loved bringing back bad boys) But he doesn't seem interested in Sara's personal life. And the women of Springfield could only be analyzed so much.
    • This better be something, because as I said, so far it's just cliches and stereotypes -- the story we've heard a thousand times about the homeless person who doesn't want a home and prefers to live on the streets.
    • @rsclassicfanforever thank you very much for the recent uploads of season 13 containing some episodes that were skipped or glitchy on YouTube!  I had a look at 3172 though and there is no audio for most of it? Would you have a copy with complete audio? Fingers crossed! Thanks again!

    • I like Margaret well enough in what I've seen of her as Paige - she is green but she has real star power.  I agree about the actor who plays Brian. He's...mostly just there. Not bad but not great.  My main issue is with the guy who plays Owen. He's just not appealing to me. I can believe Nola being obsessed with him, but he's draining to watch.  I'm surprised people objected to the quasi-incest elements as it wasn't anything that new for soaps.  Speaking of Kim, here's a rare episode of an anthology show she did called The Evil Touch.

    •   I get what you're both saying, and I think the show was lucky to have even made it that long, but I think they could have still maintained a certain audience - Second Chances did before the earthquake. CBS was an older network anyway. I think the premise of Knots was still usable, it was more the characters who were a problem - many of the older figures were played out. If the show had done a better job building up its younger cast instead of making so many poor choices in the late '80s and early '90s, they could have kept things going a little longer.
    • I wish I cared about the homeless lady as much as everyone else seems to. After the nothing burger that was the lawsuit, this just feels like another boring Naomi storyline at Orphy Genes since she has no office.
    • That's great to hear. Thanks. I wish that was more readily available.
    • Just learned that Clifton Davis wrote this song!  I had no idea.

    • I think even if Marland had wanted to write more for Sara/Adam, his hands would have been tied as Robert Milli was one of the actors dumped by P&G due to his age.  From the bits and pieces I've seen of that period, Sara does have a key role in the Carrie plot, and Marland briefly gave her son Tim a more important part. I'm not sure if they just gave up on Tim once Kevin Bacon left or if they never really cared. I did not even know for many years that there was an actor in the part after Kevin...and then not one, but two. The Spauldingfield video on Tim doesn't even show the last actor (Nigel Reed), which kind of says it all. Anyway, I do get the sense Marland has some use for Sara, or for Millette. It's only after he goes that she is dumped. Of course he didn't ever hire her for his other shows, so maybe I'm wrong. (then again he never hired Geraldine Court either and he seemed very fond of her) Ann is an odd character to me as she is a proto-Lillian in being defined by pining for a Bauer brother and being involved in the death of one of their wives. I do wonder what else they could have done with her. She was friends with Diane, wasn't she? They could have had Diane manipulate her against Mike, I suppose.
