Well when GL got the notice of cancellation the ratings went down quickly....In the case of ATWT they didnt but actually went up.

AMC must deliver a huge chunk of OLTL's audience. With AMC out of the equation, what would that mean for OLTL's, and consequently, GH's numbers? Not to mention with GH losing Oprah on many of its O&O stations.

That could be, but is it worse to lose your lead in or to have a gap in the soap line up? I honestly don't know and don't really want to find out. I just wonder what the conventional wisdom on that is. It might give us a peek into what TPTB are thinking.

I expect a jump in the ratings for all the soaps when they stop airing on SoapNet, even if only 40-50% of the SoapNet audience

moves back to network broadcast, the entire soap ratings/rankings could change drastically, especially since only .1 and .2 sometimes

seperates these network ratings. This is why I am shocked ABC would cancel any soap before 2012, I suspect IF AMC is canceled, maybe they forecast OLTL doing better post-SoapNet than AMC.

I certainly agree all the soaps are in danger, although with OLTL appearing to come back from the dead much like DAYS, I have a lot of hope for them, ALSO maybe OLTL will actually get PROMOTIONS and no longer be treated like the bastard child of ABC Daytime, if ABC invests a bit of money in promoting OLTL like it does GH, who knows what can happen? Of course Ron and Frankie better make damn sure they get their acts together, I think they are a talented team and if they made some adjustments and write and produce a great show OLTL can not only beat GH, it can topple Y&R!!!! lol I know some may disagree, although I have faith in OLTL, it has a lot of potential.

OLTL is my show, and I love your optimism, but OLTL cannot hold a ratings gain to save its life. Its one life. lol!

Finn wasn't fired, he only signed for a year and chose to leave when that was up

I think Cara and Griff are actually positive additons to the canvass because they have some appeal

Cara's a great addition, but Griffin? He's not even a fleshed out character, yet Cara is, that goes back to the acting(I should say lack of acting skill on JV's part)
