The son of Lucky and Elizabeth is involved in a tragic accident and is immediately rushed to the hospital. Will he live? Will he die? Will we die waiting to find out whether he lives or dies? And apparently, there’s more: Someone may be to blame. I don't know if this will be "triple-hanky" or not because it's so crass and manipulative and they have done this over and over again. It's just too rushed. You can have months and months of focus on something that ultimately led to absolutely nothing (Brenda/Dante), but this is over in a second. For one thing, they are selling this like a movie promo, almost gleefully, in their Very Special Hushed tones. It seems like they're getting off on it, as Guza seemed to when Michael was shot in the head. The other problem is this is all so played out. JJ doing his teary-eyed, cracking-voice routine that he does every other day, looking so much like a homeless man that he takes you out of the scene. Jason doing his usual constipated long-suffering stare. And why is Luke in any of this when he hates kids and said that Jake was not any real child to Lucky? He has no business being in the story. The show wants to be depressing but the stories are too shallow and have been done too many times in recent years. All this with Jason has been recycled again and again and Jake has barely been seen until lately. One or two days of weeping and pained stares aren't the same as decent buildup. I'm still a bit miffed that after everything GH put the fans through during the SOS, they're going to off the child that started all that nonsense. That said, the promo almost sounds like they're talking about their Christmas Eve story reading at GH, the way they talk, and what not. Dunno. I wasn't moved. Probably won't be.
