Thanks @will81 for putting such effort ! A few questions about 1986 :

- Were Amy O'Neill and Lee Nicholl on contract ? There were very short term. I don't remember having seen credits with them on.

- Do you think that Carolyn Conwell's last contract airdate was July 7th ? From was I have gathered, she went recurring in 1986 and only came back to contract during 1998-2003.

- About Nathan Purdee, you list them as recurring beginning in July. Is it how he was credited? I'm surprised he was taken off contract at the same time as St. Elwood and Morris. Talk about a black purge ! I think Purdee was off after the summer and only came back a year later.

Amy was on contract for sure. Her name is always with the contract players from her first appearance. Lee was on contract but only for the wrap up of Who Shot Jill, so Aug - Oct 86. However IMDB has cast credits from Sep - Dec 12th and they seem pretty accurate except Doug Davidson and Kate Linder have been listed on every single episode, they are the only ones this happens to, so I couldn't do those charts without making definite errors.

Yes Carolyn most likely last aired as a contract player in Jul 86 until around 98. I have been collecting all the available cast credits from 89 - 93 based on episodes we have, while I can't do cast charts, at least it gives an idea of who was on contract and who wasn't. Plus when certain changes were made (roughly) I can post those as well at some point in the future. I looked at the 89-90 period when Mary was appearing a lot due to the Cassandra Rawlins story and Carolyn was still non-contract. Her appearances only get more scant after this. So I assume 86 was her last on contract period until 98ish

Nathan is a bit tricky. If you look at June you should see him twice. On contract to June 6 and off from Jun 12. The last on contract credits we have for Nathan are from Jun 3 and his next appearance was Jun 6. Then we get credits again on Jun 10 and he is non contract. His next appearance was Jun 12. I assumed he was still on contract Jun 6. Nathan disappears around the time of Danny's concert but returns once in Oct and once in Nov (possibly he appears in Dec but don't have all those episodes) He returns May 6, 1987 and is off contract at this point.

Also two other bits of trivia - Esther is never referred to as Esther Valentine in the credits until April 29, 1987. Nathan is still referred to as Kong in 1986 and I am not sure why. I remember an episode where he insists on being called Nathan, so why they listed him as Kong in 1986 is a mystery to me. Maybe just error on the part of whoever did the credits I guess. ETA: I checked actually the change it from February, last Kong reference is Feb 10, 1986. Not as bad as I remember

Traci Abbott is immediately changed to Traci Abbott Carlton from Jun 25 which is the next credits list we get after Brad and Traci marry, but since it was so near the end of the month I changed it for July.

Confirmed that Nathan was on the Dec '86 New Year Eve's ep (don't know exact date) - he can be seen in clip 124 in the Vault during Gina's NYE party.

In the SOD recap, his absence from Jan-Apr '87 is explained... Amy is sad because she hasn't heard from Nathan, only to find out that had gone off the grid to study for his diploma (which is a nice idea in theory to surprise her, but probably better if he had just told her what was going on...)

I checked IMDB for the available episodes and Nathan does appear Dec 2,3,4 1986 but whether or not these are absolutely correct I have no idea. Again only Doug and Kate are incorrect for sure. So Nathan had at least 4 episodes in Dec with the NYE one

Well, now that person on archive has uploaded May 18, 1989! Much better quality than the one I posted. Yes, I refreshed the archive page multiple times today lol... oh, how awesome would it be if they had the rest of the month in English!

FYI re: the exact airdates of the German '87 eps... I noticed for the ep "Nikki sees Victor and Ashley", the English version in the Vault was dated 5/28... but the German version is dated 5/27.

I don't know which date is correct...?

But when we reach June 16, when Phillip is arrested for drunk driving, the English version in the Vault and the German version are both dated June 16 so we're back in sync date-wise by this point.

    • Trump and Netanyahu are giving "Let them eat cake".  And it's horrific. In 2013, Pope Francis removed a bishop from running the Limburg Germany diocese because he was constructing an opulent 31-million-euro building. Pope Francis stood up for the poor, the unhoused, the migrants of all faiths.  He lived simply and ordered that when he died, that he wished to be interred in a simple wooden coffin. I sincerely hope that the new pope Leo will follow Francis' example.
    • Co Sign!!!!   I have been watching the show regularly over the last few weeks and am pleasantly surprised by how much easier it is to watch each day. This definitely is confirmation for me that Paula and Jeanne wrote the stroke episodes, cause I felt the same way watching those. Could be more exciting for sure, but interactions now make more sense and everything seems to be a bit more character driven which is great. I will add though, there are still about 10 or so characters i'd love to see gone, and hope a few will exit in the future! Otherwise, happy with the changes so far.

    • There is suffering everywhere you look, says mother of emaciated baby girl trapped in Gaza https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/czrv5rl73zdo Quoting excerpts from BBC article: The baby's mother Najwa, 23, is changing Siwar's nappy. She weighs just over 2kg (4lb 6oz). A baby girl of five months should be around or over 6kg. "There was no food when I gave birth to her," says Najwa. "If I wanted to feed myself so I could breastfeed her, I had no nutrients to make my health better... She now only drinks formula milk, and we don't know how we'll be able to provide it for her." Israel has banned international journalists from entering Gaza to report independently. According to Siwar's doctor, Ziad al-Majaida, "Nothing enters through the borders, no milk, food or anything. This leads to big problems here for the kids. This baby needs a specific type of milk. It was available before, but because of the border closure, the stocks have run out for a while now." Since the beginning of the year, according to the UN, about 10,000 cases of acute malnutrition among children have been identified. Food prices have rocketed by as much as 1,400%. Charity kitchens, which have helped hundreds of thousands of Gazans, are shutting as food supplies run out. Twenty-five bakeries supported by the World Food Programme have been forced to close. Israel cut off all humanitarian aid and other supplies from entering Gaza on 2 March, and resumed its military offensive two weeks later The United Nations has said the Israeli blockade constitutes "a cruel collective punishment" on civilians. The UN's humanitarian director, former British diplomat Tom Fletcher, said that international law was unequivocal. "As the occupying power, Israel must allow humanitarian support in... Aid, and the civilian lives it saves, should never be a bargaining chip," he warned. From the BBC reporter: I put this point to Boaz Bismuth, a leading member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party. He (Bismuth) denies there is an aid crisis caused by the blockade. "There is food in Gaza... Israel wouldn't do such a restriction if the population didn't have food. I mean, I know my country perfectly well," he (Bismuth) said. BBC reporter: I put it to Bismuth that he was denying the evidence of people's eyes, that children were starving. "There are not starving children. I repeat again." He (Bismuth) said that there had been allegations months ago of famine, ethnic cleansing and genocide in Gaza "which was crap". ----  ----  ---- A UK-based advocacy group for Israel has the nerve to claim war may reduce obesity in Gaza https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/may/10/uk-lawyers-for-israel-condemned-over-claim-war-may-reduce-obesity-in-gaza
    • Joel Crothers would have been perfect as Owen (maybe because Margo wasn't too far off Denise). A shame he couldn't have played a dual role. Eliot did have more room to grow. I wonder if whatever allegedly happened with Denny Albee played a part in both their exits.

    • I remember Evie's last scene and it was in Justin Marler's house and she is telling them that Ben is asking for a reconciliation and she is going to join him. I always have wondered what Janet Grey did after leaving Guiding Light (I know from the interview with Kathleen Cullen that she did have a baby and they stayed in touch for awhile).
    • https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/may/11/trump-accept-luxury-plane-gift-qatar Donald Trump is reportedly ready to accept a luxury plane described to be a “palace in the sky” being offered to the US president as a gift from Qatar’s royal family, almost immediately igniting accusations of bribery and corruption as well as commensurate criticism. citing multiple sources familiar with the matter, ABC reported (link) that the Trump administration was preparing to accept a luxury Boeing 747-8, a jumbo jet from the Qatari royals that was estimated to be about $400m. Trump would then use the 13-year-old plane as the new Air Force One until shortly before the conclusion of his second Oval Office stint, at which point it would be transferred to his presidential library foundation no later than 1 January 2029. The luxury gift from Qatar is expected to be announced next week during Trump’s three-day tour of the Middle East that includes Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, ABC reported. Trump toured the opulent plane in February while it was parked at the West Palm Beach international airport, ABC added. According to ABC’s sources, Trump’s attorney general Pam Bondi and his top White House lawyer David Warrington have pre-emptively concluded that it is “legally permissible” for Trump to accept the luxury gift and then transfer it over to his presidential library.
