I would love to one day see those clips because for some reason I can't picture her playing a prostitute, I guess it's because seeing her in the role of Mary for Soo long u just don't see any other side of her then that field

In the first season of Knots Landing cliffhanger Bottom Of The Bottle she played a prostitute. Val talks to her when they start looking for Gary.

I hope to find that clip and isn't that the same year she debuted as Mary on y&r, too bad because of her health she couldn't be brought back on in later year's for Paul,Patty, even Todd's few appearances

They always dressed Carolyn Conwell so unflatteringly until 1998/99 when they gave her the Carl returns story. She was beautifully featured in the end sequence until  CBS got rid of it

I recall Mary wearing an ugly  striped blouse and a dowdy grey skirt topped off with a strange cape like  jacket.

She seemed to wear that ensemble a lot. i googled and there they were!

Hey everyone! I've been quietly browsing these boards for a while now and I finally decided to make an account, go figure haha. I'm a huge fan of the older Y&R episodes shared from the 90s and early 2000s and most importantly, I'm an even bigger fan of Y&R's classic background music. I've always felt like they used to be the gold standard where daytime drama production is concerned, and strongly their old background music instantly elevates any scene. I'm glad it's making a comeback in newer episodes too, as they disappeared for the last 6 years.

I'm also a frequent GH watcher, and based on the recent storylines I had this crazy idea to see what a GH scene would feel like with Y&R's background music (because let's face it, GH's current music is a mess). So I quickly flexed my musical muscles and I decided to quickly edit a short scene with Y&R's old music. This was already an emotionally heavy scene and I feel like the music helped drive that point even further. Because it's using older Y&R background music I thought it would be appropriate to post here. Anyways, here's the video below and let me know what you think!

It definitely adds alot of definition to it, and it's funny because y&r don't even use this no more. They did the other day actually but for the first time in idont even know how long, cues like this have been gone for years now

Thanks for the love! Looks like I should make more of these! :D

A combination of collecting episodes and audio filtering haha. It's not always easy and I can't always get a clean cut, but until clean versions are released for streaming online, these will have to suffice. ;)

Way back when I was in high school (and way before YouTube got strict with copyright filtering) there were so many episodes of Y&R with decent audio quality that I just collected over the years. I had enough to use them in one of my projects where I created a 3-episode drama that was modeled off of Y&R haha.

That's super impressive! Wish I had that kind of talent with audio.

You should share some of those episodes on here... hint, hint. ;)

Absolutely fantastic work!!!  And I agree, Y&R's classic music cues are some of the best throughout daytime history.  The only other soap that had such dramatic, moving music cues, in my opinion, was OLTL during Linda Gottlieb's reign in the 90's.

It really is. I don't know why these rare 1970s' episodes pop up from time to time, but really, they are a blessing.

I salute all the generous people who are kind and altruistic enough to share them with the community.
