Members Contessa Donatella
11-10-1965 Episode #3 Intro, Star Billing 20:37 Usual quality. Locations: Hortons, airport, Bartlett's Dept. store Cast: Ben, Addy, Marie, Julie, Mickey, Mr. Franklin Ben & Addy arrive, fairly late in the evening. Marie lets them in. Almost immediately Ben & Mickey begin to argue about the shoplifting. Addy is ribbing Marie about some past guy who Marie says broke up with her. Addy thinks he was a real catch & Marie should have fought for him. Ben says Marie & Mickey don't understand because they've never had kids. He asks EXACTLY what do the police have on Julie? Mickey outlines: the fur, the guy saw her take it, etc. Ben: Has Bartlett's Dept. store actually pressed charges yet? He's planning on getting them to drop it. He's more concerned about appearances & possible media coverage or people talking about it. Julie comes in the room. Addy: Why did you do it? If you'd told us you wanted it, we'd have gotten it for you. Ben & Addy begin to argue blaming each other for this happening. They tell Marie to butt out again & she leaves the room. Addy says Mickey is a fine lawyer. Ben says he's your brother & I tolerate him. Addy says they need to go home because Mom & Dad will come down if we go on this way. Julie doesn't want to go home with them. She wants to stay where she is. Ben says that is just too bad because she has to do what they say. What she wants does not matter. At the airport, Craig & Marie are seeing Tony off, to Boston, for an interview for a teaching fellowship. Crag: Is Jim meeting you? Tony: I think so but if he doesn't I'll just take a cab. Marie & Tony talk about having children. Tony leaves. At Bartlett's Dept. store, Ben & Addy are there to meet with a Mr. Franklin. Ben says his daughter never meant to take the fur. She & her friends were just joking around. He pushes for any charges to be dropped. Mr. Franklin says there's no way that could happen. They have the entire incident on film & both the police & the insurance people have seen it. Ben & Addy don't believe it! Mr. Frankly says they can see it for themselves. He goes to arrange for them to view it. Back at the Hortons, outside, Marie & Craig talk about missing Tony. She calls Craig "Mr. Merritt" not Craig. He invites them to live with him if they stay in Salem. She tells him her mother wants him to wear his uniform to the wedding. This seems to please him.
Members Contessa Donatella
11-15-65 Episode #6 21:02 Quality: lots of problems, many white lines & rolling screens Locations: the Hortons inside & out & several rooms, Jim's apartment in Boston Cast: Tom, Addy, Alice, Marie Addy walks up. Tom is sitting up on something reading something, with a pair of hedge trimmers beside him. She talks briefly to him & then goes inside because she's come to see her mother. Addy interrupts Alice vacuuming. They talk, about Julie & Ben at first. Then, Alice remarks on how she brought all 5 of her children up the same way & they all turned out so different from each other. Addy makes it clear to Alice that she does not like it that Julie is close to Marie. An ex of Marie's had money which is something Tony doesn't have. Alice changes the subject saying that Mickey is very worried about Julie & doesn't want Ben to cover this up, that Julie's got to learn conssequences to actions before she gets into really serious trouble. Marie comes in & Addy turns on her. Addy: Marie, you are not Julie's mother. Marie makes a logical response. Addy makes a harsh retort. Marie leaves the table & the room. It was a fight! Tom, outside still, now he's trimming a hedge. Marie comes up to him & is talking about why she always takes Addy's bait, wishing she didn't rise to it. Tom & Marie discuss family issues. Back inside, Alice tells Marie she shouldn't have stormed out like she did. A patient comes to the house & Tom sees him. The patient has an ulcer & they're taking their meds but they haven't changed their diet or lifestyle. He says it's too hard to eat the bland diet & he can't help but get upset about things at work. Tom goes over the importance of giving up spicy foods & not letting stress get to him. Tom wants to see him in 1 week. He says he doesn't have the time. Tom insists on an hour, Monday at 4 pm. In the other room Addy makes a crack about the newlyweds having to struggle financially because Tony will be a teacher. They get into another fight over Julie. Addy leaves abruptly. In Boston, at Jim's apartment, where Tony is staying. Jim comes in. Tony had just been laying on the bed. He says he had to fill out all these forms. Jim had made plans with some guys for him & Tony to meet up with them. Tony says he hopes he gets this fellowship but he doubts that he did well on the interview. Tony is dizzy again. Jim calls a doctor to come see Tony, who stumbles & falls. Jim catches him before he hits the floor. Tony insists he doesn't need to see a doctor. At the Hortons, Alice & Marie are talking about the fact that Addy left upset after this other fight over Julie. Tom comes in & says, "You're not protecting Julie by saying Addy is not a good mother." They're supposed to see the judge tomorrow. Tom: You're our last daughter & we're losing you.

Members Contessa Donatella
What you don't seem to follow is that YouTube is not a viable alternative to me. I tried it & it worked for years, but it doesn't any longer. They shut down my whole account twice in 10 months. All because one of the things I post is DAYS clips & Sony is on the warpath. Understand or not, it is what it is.
Members Khan
I shouldn't contribute to this part of the conversation at all, because: 1) I'd only be feeding into your narcissism and 2) anything I say will likely fall onto deaf ears anyway. BUT...if you can't post anything on or from YouTube, and you know Rumble is not an agreeable alternative, then - here's a thought - just don't post anything, period. After all, it's not as if Ernesto Toscano has your lover suspended over a vat of acid and is FORCING you to post on the 'net, so - again - if you can't post on or from YT, then just. Don't. Post. Members Contessa Donatella
I'm just going to say this. Just as there are people who don't like Rumble, there are also plenty of people, here, who could care less & have no problem, at all, with my posting that clips are there. What I suggest is that we all let each other be. No one is making you go there. It's strictly voluntary.
Members j swift
The posting of two more links to an offensive site, immediately after the reposting of the article citing why it is objectionable, is clearly an act of antagonism. I have no objection to you posting your opinion on any relevant subject. But, as this is a discussion forum, I would ask you to consider your audience before you reply. The criteria should be: it is engaging, entertaining, and inoffensive; at the very least. Edited December 15, 2024 by j swift
Members Maxim
Please register in order to view this content Can someone help me with where does this storyline start as a date... I know it's in late 1994, but what is the date of her getting possessed. I think I'm in a pre-Christmas mood for some MarDevil. Thanks in advance! Members Contessa Donatella
People do not have to post in public to give an opinion, or even to say thanks for posting a clip. And, I don't need you to school me about posting a fairly simple reply. Thanks all the same. I'm not sure if exactly when the precursors to the actual storyline got underway. But, the most famous days of being sure that it was happening are the middle week of May 1995.
Members Maxim
Thank you soooo much! I will have to look for these. It seems that it was such a polarizing storyline... and I want to see how it compares to the horrible modern version of it! Is it much better? Members Contessa Donatella
It was definitely different. Back then they played everything literally, straight & so the overall effect was camp. Ron's version was written campy & they attempted to play it as such & a lot of it fell very flat. I was one who did not like the original of DevilDoc. But, it was superior to the modern attempt. Dragged on way too long. One day could last for weeks & weeks. I saw as many DAYS fans who were friends leave, as those like me, who stayed. Some of them went to GH & others went to AMC. Of course the show got so many new fans, too many to count.
Members Maxim
This is fascinating to me. Thanks for the insight! So interesting... how 1 storyline can bring on so much new fans... and repel a lot of them too. I would have to watch it, just for the iconic reputation it has. The modern "version" was horrible, but I... have to be honest - I replayed some scenes quite a few times... Out of sheer amazement at how bad and absurd it is. Members j swift
The foreshadowing of the possession happens early in the fall of 1994, with Marlena complaining about a darkness that is interrupting her sleep and Mike getting phone calls asking about Marlena. Here's a summary of the dates. Edited December 15, 2024 by j swift
