Had forgotten that Harding Lemay was brought back as consultant after Marland's passing. How long did he last? I am surprised he wasn't given the HW job.

I think I posted this photo somewhwere earlier in the thread.

Off the top of my head I think the girl in blue next to Ro is Sybil Collier, who played Judy English, Claire's British niece.

The boys in the front row are Dan and Paul Stewart and the girl is Connie Scott as Susan Burke.

The woman in front is Toni Darnay (Franny Brennnan)

The man next to Bob is Fred Collins played by George Sampson

Was that the entire cast?  If so, it seems incredible to me how a half-hour show from that period would have so many actors/characters.

On the front row of that group photograph are Jeffrey Rowland (Dan Stewart) and probably Edmund Guynes as Paul.  The women are Franny Brennan (Toni Darnay) and Susan Burke (Connie Scott).

This was evidently taken before Gloria de Haven joined the cast as Sarah Fuller.

I cannot remember, for the life of me, Fred Collins (George Sampson).   Was he someone who was attracted to Amanda (Deborah Steinberg Simon)?

Sometime after Connie Scott left as Susan, Jada Rowland had the role.   That was after her brother, Jeffrey Rowland, had left as Dan.

I have learned that actor George Sampson appeared on Broadway in The Royal Hunt of the Sun (1966).

Also in The Royal Hunt of the Sun were Thayer David (Dark Shadows), Gregory Rozakis (The Best of Everything and One Life to Live),  Michael Levin (Ryan's Hope, As the World Turns), Tony LoBianco (Hidden Faces), Robert Burr (Love of Life, Love Is a Many Splendored Thing, other soap operas), Ben Hammer (numerous soap operas), George Rose and David Carradine.

This is a picture of Jeffrey Rowland with the mayor of New York.   Is that the First Lady on the left?

The list of actresses who played Dr. Susan Burke Stewart are:

  • Connie Scott (1966–1967)
  • Diana Walker (1967)
  • Jada Rowland (1967–1968)
  • Leslie Perkins (1968)
  • Marie Masters (1968–1979, 1986–2010)

The years that Marie Masters played Susan seem to be incorrect.  She was fired when Irna Phillips returned to writer the show.  She returned later after Robert Soderberg and Edith Sommer became the writers.

I read that Mary Harris created the character.   Is this correct?

OMG Hans....LOLOL...he was one of the weirdest villians ever....even weirder than Lileith....I wonder if Marland had an outline for him or did the remaining writers create him? I liked Hans...I still remember Emma and Lily hiding from him at the farm....LOL....and the plaster of the ceiling falling all over Courtney's face....LOL...I think that was close to when the actress was leaving the show. I remember Courtney blaming Andy for what Hans did to her.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.
