Winsor Harmon dropped to recurring status

One of The Bold and the Beautiful's longest-running veterans has been taken off contract. Winsor Harmon, who joined the cast in 1996, is now on recurring status. Harmon also appeared on All My Children.

After more than 13 years as a contract player on The Bold and the Beautiful, Winsor Harmon (Thorne Forrester) has been taken off contract. The actor will continue to appear on a recurring basis.

The status change may not surprise B&B viewers, many of whom have noted that Harmon hasn't been featured in a front burner storyline for several years. It also comes at a time when The Bold and the Beautiful is introducing several new members to its roster of 20somethings.

It should, however, be noted that B&B has had a history of taking actors off contract during periods of "non-use" only to elevate them back to contract status when a storyline was created for their characters. The status tweaking helps keep the show's budget in check.

Harmon joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful in December 1996 as the third actor to play Thorne. Clayton Norcross originated the role in 1987 and Jeff Trachta appeared just prior to Harmon assuming the role. Before landing on B&B, Harmon enjoyed a short run as Del Henry on ABC's All My Children

The Bold and the Beautiful does not comment on contracts.

No surprise here, really. Seen it coming for a long time.

They have been wasting him for years. :(

And this MUST mean they are finally needing to cut their budget, and can't support a cast where half of them aren't being used.

I hope that next up is news on Kyle Lowder being fired.

Recurring on B&B doesnt mean fired. It means, "we cant pay you right now" Look at how many times Drew Tyler Bell and Alley Mills have gone off and on contract over the last few years. They're still around

I know. I was just holding out hope that by paying for Adrienne Frantz and Scott Clifton that some people would be fired.

*cough*Kyle Lowder*cough*

It's about time they did this. I'm it's because of SC and AF. Anyway, Send the character away -- it's not like Thorne's ever really mattered during the 23 years. It's too bad because it could've been a real rivalry when Honey Bear finally hands the baton.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I don't think this comment was meant to be racistic at all - TB is not too great an actor and his character has barely ties to the show - unlike Thorne/WInsor Harmon.

Never thought Brad would drop Winsor. Especially when he spent so many years on the bakcburner already...

LOL. I could care less about Texas Battle. The eyeroll wasn't for him, nor did it have anything to do with anything about race. Kind of offended that you would think I'd jump to that conclusion, but whatever.

I mean, I love all people. Even Australians.

    • Insulin amendments to the bill: (compiled from various tweets and articles) Senate voted on Kennedy's amendment – he said he will "re-implement a rule Biden repealed to make insulin available at community health care centers."  Would pay for it by redirecting money away from Obamacare. Murray said Rs should support the insulin price cap instead. (This Kennedy amendment was essentially a bid to show Republican support for addressing the cost of insulin, though Democrats opposed it as insufficient. It came right before Republicans were expected to strip out the Democratic-authored insulin proposal in the bill for violating Senate rules on budget reconciliation.) Kennedy amendment did not pass. Republicans challenged the $35 cap on insulin prices for the private marketplace, as a violation of the strict budget rules governing passage of this bill.  The $35 cap on insulin prices for private insurers is officially out of the bill.  Seven Republicans voted with Democrats to keep the cap for private insurers in the bill, 57-43, insulin price cap for private market is stricken from the bill  (needed 60 to survive). 7 Rs voted to keep it in the bill: Cassidy, Collins, Hawley, Hyde Smith, Kennedy, Murkowski, & Sullivan The cap on price of insulin for those on Medicare is still in the bill. That part was ruled to comply with reconciliation rules. Summary: The $35.00 cap on insulin for private insurers was stricken from the bill. The $35.00 cap on insulin for Medicare patients remains in the bill. Senate Finance chair @RonWyden gives out this statement: “Republicans have just gone on the record in favor of expensive insulin. After years of tough talk about taking on insulin makers, Republicans have once against wilted in the face of heat from Big Pharma”.
    • He looks good. When was this? He doesn't have a bad voice. I'm glad he quit Dynasty over the fact that Steven wasn't gay enough.
    • And all were gone not long after Moonves became fully ascendant at CBS. (Though I'm not counting The Nanny.) Yes, Moonves was looking for success. He also had a clear focus on undoing a female-centric image at the network. i'm not going to rehash the entire discussion many of us had about CBS history while I'm recovering from COVID, lol. You can look it up yourself in that thread. It's not hard to search those names in there.
    • The hair definitely 'elevates' this to Big Fat Gypsy Wedding levels. Tiara? You are too modest. It's a motherfucking steelworks up in that birds nest. We knew it would be blingy. We knew it would be Baroque. Teresa lives to overshadow other people. This event is probably the biggest thing northern New Jersey has seen in a LONG time. But the whole thing also looks like it might be a lot of fun to attend? And she definitely understands the assignment in terms of leaking a few insane pics and inviting all these RHs who are going to leak too. This is wonderful marketing for the next season of NJ plus the wedding special.  I wonder if the special will show if Ramona was uninvited, and why Dina refused to attend.
