Man, I really don't care about what you learned from your professors and what-not. That's between you and them. None of my teachers in high school or college ever made me believe any of the above. So...um, yeah. I like to think that I have a very objective view of the world. Some may disagree, but I hold firm in my belief.

But my question is who in the world are you to dismiss anybody's claims when you're not them at all and have no idea whether or not what they're saying is legit? You don't have to endorse it or agree with it or even accept it. But what gives you the right to say that it's wrong?

This is just my take on it, but I feel that in your disillusion with what your professors wanted you to believe, you've convinced yourself that the above circumstances are rare. Which they are not. At all. So dismissing complaints based on those circumstances is just ridiculous.

You betcha!!

Here's how it goes when you want "diversity" in soaps: give them (non-whites) an inch, they want the entire highway. If they don't get it, they will stamp their feet, kick and scream the R-bomb until some knight-in-armour TV whoever comes to their rescue. This is the way it is in this day and age.

It's called freedom of speech.

Here's the thing.. on daytime television as a whole you have:

Oprah Winfrey

Sherri Shepherd

Robin Roberts

Al Roker

Wayne Brady

Judge Mathis

Wendy Williams

A minimum of 3 black characters on every soap (Except B&B)

Judge Joe Brown

(Recently left) Montel Williams

(Recently left) Tyra Banks

Whoopi Goldberg

Judge Lynn toler (Divorce court)

Debbye Turner Bell

Dr. Lisa Masterson

So nobody can look at the glass half full here? Counting the soap characters that gives you over 30 black faces on daytime TV... Can you name ANY black personalities on daytime in 1975? (Besides Bill Cosby and Don Cornelius on Saturday mornings)What HUGE strides this represents.

I don't see as one other co-star making a complaint a "vicious cycle". And I never said her claim wasn't valid, I just said that I don't believe racism to be the ENTIRE reason for her problems. I simply think she's overly DRAMATIC and excessively whiny. That's not how a PROFESSIONAL behaves. But that's how a hot mess behaves, and thank God, because it gives me many a kee-cackle and boundless entertainment value.

And I, as a Black man, am supposed to feel proud about this list? Are you joking? This list makes me nostalgic for the days of Amos 'n' Andy!

what do ya mean? What's wrong with Oprah and Dr. Lisa? Wendy is a hot mess, but she's FUN with a capital F. And what problem do you have with Sherri, Whoopi and Al Roker? If you don't like these people, who would pass muster for you? Can I have some examples?

That list shows that some genres in daytime TV appreciate their audience which is why they're thriving and daytime soaps are failing. If minorities are a large part of the audience, how hard is it to create one family out of four or five that is black or hispanic or asian? It's not hard...

Never in any of my posts about Victoria and/or race have I EVER said that or anything like it.

Directly or indirectly.

As usual you are hearing what you want to hear, skewing what actually WAS said & throwing temper tantrums cause you can't control the narrative with your bigotry.

It's not on yours either.

Yet it doesn't stop you from acting like a Martyr.

+1.

BASICALLY!

Now Now bellcurve! Don't be "hyperemotional!"

LOL

Poor thing.

Can't even deal with your pseudonyms let alone your pathology.

    • I thought today was still good. Leo is always awful, but the characters treating him like he's a plague feeds my soul. Rafe in particular had been very passive about him, but today was wonderful seeing him put Leo on notice. I really think it's being written that Javi is going to have to eventually take the blinders off and see Leo for who he really is. Them having sex on Gabi's desk made me want to explode. Roman taking in stray Doug was nice to see. And the mention of Frankie and Max was unexpected, but good to know they're at least being thought of. Tate being petty and a bit vindictive by going back to Sophia's as soon as he saw Doug with Holly was entertaining for me. I think I actually like Tate the most out of all of them because he's so damn messy.  Is Holly about to be kidnapped? Her first time? Also, Gabi finally revealing what happened with her the night EJ was shot and the clearing of all the other main suspects, but Johnny made this still feel like an important episode. I think Johnny will be cleared soon enough leaving everybody at a loss for the hell shot EJ. How the real shooter will be revealed is going to be interesting.  Speculation: When Kristen finally puts together that her daughter Rachel shot him, she'll agree to frame her mother for the crime, while keeping her hidden away from Salem.
    • That would have saved the Anita singing segment -- having her by herself, singing quietly and reflectively. Belting it out like she was in church did not work. The black screens fade at the end was a mistake. BTG insists on being different with these fades for the sake of being different, and it's not working.   I thought all of that was just fine. Worked for me.   I'm going to disagree with this. Martin hasn't had many scenes with his parents, but he's been around family A LOT -- and that's what matters. We also know Martin is someone with a hair trigger response. He can be very emotional when discussing an issue before getting to the logic and reason of it all.
    • My view of Evan is that he's smart but not as smart as he thinks he is, not a good guy but not an entirely bad guy - he's a lot of things, the show never quite knowing what to do with them. I never saw him as Iris' follower because Iris always seemed a bit in over her head from the start.
    • She was the Town Historian, who knew a bit too much about Brandon and the infamous cottage.  SF was still a pretty normal place at that time, with Nola and Reva being the most outrageous citizens....seems that Carrie Pipper would have stood out a bit more for people.

    • Yes, I need to dot hat. Also on my list talking to the person I got these files from since they clearly have a mess, in terms of dates being wrong. And, unfortunately finding one date wrong, automatically means more are wrong, too.
    • I'm hoping that it doesn't happen. If the show keeps putting out good performance and story it will be hard to shut it out. Daphnee, Trisha, Ambyr and Colby are earning nominations without question.
