I don't find it unbelievable for a woman to keep one twin and give the other away if she can't afford to raise both. As for what Krystal did with the money, I'm loving the guesses so far!

I'm relieved that Frankie is injured instead of presumed dead. Debbi Morgan, Beth Ehlers & JR Martinez were fantastic. Unfortunately, Denise Vasi is dragging this story down.

While I'm sick of Ian's health pulling his parents together, I do like how the heart valve story is playing out. I can see JR's point in not wanting to put an untested product in a baby, as well as Scott's side that it is his best hope and Zach's not wanting to risk his son's life versus Kendall's willingness to try anything to spare Ian future operations. Imo, this is the kind of storylines soaps should do more often.

I wonder if they wanted Alexa to come back as BabeTwin in the first place.

If this SL is about making me feel sorry for KWAK having given up her other Baby Doll, it ain't working.

I totally agree. With Morgan, Ehlers and Martinez, you get a clear understanding of where their characters' minds are. Angie's distraught. Taylor doesn't have a good feeling. Brot's been there, yet he still hopes for the best.

Randi's... what?

Longtime viewers will get this -- but Denise Vasi reminds me of Carolyn Neff (ex-Raquel Dion #1). An extraordinarily gorgeous woman who simply can. not. act! Just like Neff, Vasi is being thrown some serious material. Neff's Raquel was in court fighting for custody of her son against Hayley and Mateo, and this woman was just stuttering and slipping up on lines and stammering all the way through. Vasi is basically making Randi look like, "Yeah, sure, Frankie's injured. Is it really that serious? Sheesh!"

I seriously  Brot and JR Martinez. I just LOVE both of them. If Beth Ehlers is this allegedly wonderful actress as her GL fans claim her to be, then I have to say hats off to her. She's done what a dedicated actor is supposed to do with her scene partner. She worked through the green to discover the gold.

Marissa being sold at birth stinks of 'the writer' having Edward Quatermine revealed to have had sold Skye Chandler off at birth on GH. For what reason? If shows aren't going to delve into the babyselling black market, why even color a character with this?

YES! OMG! Nail on the head, R Sinclair, nail. on. the head. Like DV, bitch Carolyn Neff couldn't play the emotional subtext in a scene to save her funky, two-bit ass! When TPTB finally wised up and replaced her w/ "Inca Mummy Girl" from "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer," I was like Saaphyri after another one of the girls got kicked out of "Flavor of Love Girls' Charm School": "Kick da bitch out! Kick da bitch out! Kick dat bitch right out da house! Yeah, she GONE!!!"

That's just it. BE is wonderful, and GL never should've let her go. But, damn, they never should've bound-and-gagged her to so many ridiculous storylines and romantic partners, either!

AFAIC, Skye's retconned paternity and maternity never happened. She's Adam and Althea's biological daughter, and that's that.

Exactly! "Emotional subtext" describes what it is that's lacking. She is simply not connecting to the material. She can "look" sad and worried, but she doesn't "play" sad and worried. There's no connection. Debbi Morgan throwing those pots and pans around may seem melodramatic to some, but it's the truth. A mother filled with rage at the fact that she has no idea if her son is alive... I'm surprised Angie didn't start shootin' people up in that bitch.

I'm willing to lose some "cool points" but Saaphyri had me weeping when she won Charm School. Mainly because I knew it was the last time she'd be wearing that multi-colored weave. But still, it touched me as much as a reality show can touch me.

Well, seeing how she and RPG failed, she was on my sh!t list. She's earning some points with me now that she's defining herself as Taylor Thompson, rather than Gus and Harley. I still can't stand RPG and have always hated the Jake character, so... but that's another story,

Is NuLiza supposed to know Kendall or Babe? Or is she not?

Speaking of Babe, I think I would like Marissa if they keep her away from JR. Babe did untold damage to JR's character, along with JR becoming Tad's b*($R, and I would rather see JR moved away from that history and finally grow up. Reconnecting his friendship with Kendall might be a good start, I thought Jacob and Alicia were very believable as friends. I don't want to see them as any more than friends though.

Believe me, nothing could be more melodramatic than when B&B's Taylor lost custody of her son, Jack, in court. A bunch of "It's not fair!"'s, followed by Hunter Tylo collapsing into an over-collagenated heap in front of the judge's bench, with the oddest spotlight upon her. Pathetic.

As I always say, a sistah ain't really pissed off 'til she takes off her earrings. (And when she takes off her shoes, too? And her wig? Look the hell out!) IRL, though, Angie might bust a cap in somebody's ass, should some "tramp b***h" come along, claiming Frankie was her babydaddy. I'm just saying.

Once again, the adage proved correct: you cannot transplant one couple from one soap to another, and expect their chemistry to remain intact. Not even if, in this case, RPG played "Gus", BE played "Harley", and all "Gus" and "Harley" did was move from Springfield to Pine Valley. It never works!

Of course, I maintain BE and RPG's chemistry on the other show was marginal, at best; and that it took going to a different show, on a different network, with different co-stars, writers and crew, to prove me right. But, as you say, R Sinclair, that's a different story.

(BTW? FTR? I don't like Jake either. I liked "Joey", but I don't like "Jake".)

Meanwhile, how strange is it that I actually find Brot Monroe, a physically disfigured war veteran, more attractive than Ryan Lavery, a perfectly sculpted underwear model-in-training? Seriously, if Kendall weren't such a disgusting excuse for a celebrity's long-lost bastard child, I'd want those two to hook up!

RPG definetly looks like he has some type of hispanic background to me. I dont mind him as Jake now but I initially didnt think it would be a good choice when I first heard it bc I couldnt picture him as a Martin

    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
    • CBS was back in third place in 1994/95. That was the season CBS lost NFL broadcasting rights which also cost them several established affiliates in major media markets. 1995 CBS was sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. 1995/96 CBS was trying to be young and cool to compete with NBC and Fox, but it was an epic failure and CBS was once again in third place.
    • I tend to think that Chad will actually listen to Jen (this time). And that will be the next stumbling block in their relationship, which will open the possibilities for Cat to seek another member of their love triangle... To iterate my earlier thought, I am also not a fan of the person Melissa Reeves, but the character of Jennifer looks so chic this week, especially in comparison to Hope (and Gabi).  That blunt haircut is a winner.
    • I think Cheryl was essentially replaced by Josie, and it seems likely that Lemay wanted to bring the Frames back into the picture and for a variety of reasons that it would be McKinnons who would make way for them. Cheryl didn't really get many layers -- she was pretty and kind and sweet and faded into the background so that Scott could participate in the AIDS storyline with Dawn. Looking at the AWHP, other than (not very) shockingly being in love with her mother's adopted son Scott, Cheryl apparently went out with Sam and flirted with much-too-old-for-her John Hudson and MJ's ex-boyfriend/pimp Chad. I know MJ told Mary that she had been a prostitute, but did she tell Cheryl and did she tell anyone about Chad's pimping?
    • I feel the same way about Melissa Reeves' Jennifer. She just makes the show feel like home by her presence alone. I am perfectly okay with them coming in every once and awhile, which probably fits Reeves' schedule better anyway. Their connections to Salem are still there: JJ, the grandkids, Jack still owning half of The Spectator ... they're perfect recurring characters. All this talk of Jennifer being in the wrong regarding Cat is absurd. Jennifer is not being villainized in any way, shape, or form, she's just being allowed to actually be human, which adds odds to the obstacle of Chad and Cat eventually getting together. All inner conflict. Keep it coming!
    • Hahaha. Jean Hackney, Angelica Nero, and the Falcon Crest henchwomen were all straight out of a James Bond movie.
