+17 and +11 were always ludicrous.

The main problem is that so many polls, everywhere, showed much tighter races up and down the ballot. This is the third straight election to have polls that were off. I think that this county no longer has enough trust to be honest with pollsters. I also think that in Trump's case, while the "shy Trump" voter is overblown (many are loud and virulent in their support), there are many people who find him repulsive but still vote for him because of religious reasons, or taxes, or racism. They wouldn't admit this.

The other problem is that we see Democrats still don't have a proper national strategy to be able to have a dominant bulwark like the GOP does. The losses in the House make that clear. And I don't know what they can do, as the GOP has the institutions, along with the easy appeal of racism and bigotry, on their side. Democrats, if Biden wins, were able to cobble together a patchwork of voters who may not be there for anyone else, or against anyone else but Trump, especially if Hispanic voters continue to move away from the party.

Part of the losses are down to people buying McConnell's lies and spin about the stimulus (and good luck getting one of those now, you dumbasses out there), but there is also just a lack of strength and solid planning through the leadership, especially on the Senate side.

There's also the usual media games (the Playbook in Politico was reporting on news this morning and showed a few headlines that were clearly salivating over Trump's strength and showing Democrats what's what, etc.). As long as Democrats do not have more media say in this country, we will continue to see the GOP have an advantage on every level.

Not having Trump in office would still be a major plus, and will change things within that party bit by bit. McConnell and Graham will go where they think survival is. It won't be a huge change in the GOP base, no, but it will make the Republicans in office operate somewhat differently by not cowering from the demagogue at the top of the ticket tweeting at them nonstop.

Republicans don't weep and rend their garments when they take the WH but not the Senate. They get on with it however they can. That's what we have to do now. I think there will be another stimulus, for example, with Trump no longer in the mix and more pressure on the Senate from above. But it's going to all be a series of fights.

I am still concerned about Trump (with perhaps Supreme Court) stealing it.  There are probably going to be recounts in most of these states.  This is probably going to take awhile.  I know it will be difficult without the Senate but I just really need to have a new cabinet and new aides (goodbye Ivanka, Jared, Stephen Miller, Bill Barr, Betsy DeVos, DeJoy, etc. etc.) and all the other crooked accomplices gone.

McConnell is already well-compensated and has no reason to work with Democrats on anything IMO, but yes, hopefully they will be able to stop Graham from basically sucking up endless media oxygen with fruitless investigations against Biden and his son. Maybe for once his never-ending need for validation and love will find another outlet with his "daddy" leaving office (if he goes).

It looks like Gary Peters is going to hold on, barring a shift, so that's good news at least. He was always the danger spot (poor Doug Jones had no chance).

Off topic, but while I have issues with Ilhan Omar (mainly due to her apparent grifting) I do have to give her some credit for the MN victory. She had people going out campaigning in person even when the official campaign word was not to do so. That probably added a few points at least.

The difference is, the GOP face a challenging map in 2022. And McConnell has no soul, but he is a reptile who goes where he senses victory and avoids where he senses danger. If Biden and the Dems properly use the bully pulpit they can push for the vote on stimulus or act by EO, just as Trump has done. We're going to have go hard, and we can.

    • It's shocking to see Steffy look down on anyone. She was the new generation HO for years. I mean... she was nasty and using sex to seduce married-engaged-in-relationship-men all the time. She was embracing it fully. Bradley was accenting on the fact that Taylor's daughter had become Brooke 2. I remember how disgusting it was when she was using Hope's virginity to her advantage and offering to f-ck the guys that wanted Hope. It was ABSURDLY nasty.  Then couple of years ago Bradley decided we should forget about it and made Steffy BECOME her grandmother. IN AN INSTANT. There was no build up to it. Which aged the f-ck out the character and made her unbearable. Because it's one thing to see an actual matriarch, older woman doing these things, being a moral judge... but it's complete joke to see the ex-ho acting like this. Ex-ho that is still incredibly young and has no right acting like she is better that anyone or... a moral JUDGE. Steffy and Hope's personalities got swapped!!! That's the irony of it. So any time these gang-style of fans come attacking Hope... for acting like a "slut"... I pinch myself - their HEROINE Steffy was doing this HARCORE. Are these people oblivious or just pretending not to remember. How can you stan a moral judge... that attacks "sluts" and also stan the same type of behavior you are attacking... years ago. How does this happen. But I repeat myself at this point.  I agree with everything you said 100000 percent. It's the truth. At least in my eyes.
    • The Amanda pregnancy was a blunder. Amanda and Sam were AW's best bet for a starcrossed supercouple. Young love destined to be turn apart by outside forces and misunderstandings . Battling for years to finally get together. Instead AW had them married and pregnant within a year.
    • It is his fatal flaw.  He's smart, cute, and loyal.  But, a total chauvinist pig.  We're looking through a 2025 lens, but April's from a wealthy family, (that she recently met), she should be allowed to contribute to her own home. Especially if Draper is going to work for the Crime Commission, rather than joining Mike's private law firm (did I get that part correct?) How about smoking while the baby is in the room?  It all looks nuts by current standards. Raven was married to Geraldine's son Kevin, but had an affair with Logan (whom Geraldine also considered like a son). Raven got pregnant by Logan, then Kevin died (long story short).  The part you need to know is that Raven was bored being a mother to Jamey (check out my member name).  So, she starts going out to Elliott's club and leaving Jamey with April.  Logan is not happy that Raven keeps leaving their baby all around town.  And thus, Geraldine is not pleased with Raven either.
    • There is a time... till the old storyline is cleaning up... where it's still kinda annoying. For me it was. That's a personal opinion. But in 10-20 episodes more... you'll find yourself enthralled. It's not even begun. I'm so glad to hear your reviews! And excited of what's to come for you!
    • Carly also has Nikki (Nicholas) with Lawrence. The easiest way to remember Chelsea is to think about how she was buried, stillborn, premature in a swamp and came back to life.  Or you can just remember her running over Bo/Hope's kid Zack.  Kind of ballsy to name her kid Issac if you ask me lol.
    • That's right Anita! Let her have it!

    • This is my other blind spot -- the children of Bo Brady's past loves.  Melanie:Carly as Chelsea:Billie -- but it is tough to keep them straight I dipped out during the Daniel of our Lives period of the show.
    • Yeah.  Let's just move on and talk about Jagger....lol 100% agree on the Sonny situation.  Mostly because I want Sonny to get a murder charge so he can just go live on an island with Brenda. I think Tracy did do a lot to explain Jason's perspective on AJ's murder.  I truly think that's how Jason justifies it in his own head. I don't think he was lying about his feelings.  They are just wrong.
    • I will never get over Sonny killing a fed in cold blood and everyone just shrugging when it wasn’t Alexis.    And then last week you had Jason white washing Sonny murdering AJ in cold blood to Gio.
    • I thought it was impolite to stare directly at the car crash.  Consider it like polite cocktail chatter while our hosts bicker in the kitchen
