Kanye just gave one of the most demented and incoherent interviews to Forbes that I've read next to when Randy Quaid lost his mind. I'm not going to link to it, all I'm going to say is that if anyone thinks that interview and its content is going to move any serious numbers on the left we live in very different worlds. He's a laughingstock online and he needs to be put away.

There are several celebrities out there that are clearly ill and need help. It's sad that the media exploits them the way it does.

Kanye is definitely going to try to siphon away some votes from Biden if he runs for president and that's why he made sure to "distance himself from Trump. Here's some of his quotes from his deranged interview:

That he believes “Planned Parenthoods have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work.

That he envisions a White House organizational model based on the secret country of Wakanda in Black Panther.

You know? Obama’s special. Trump’s special. We say Kanye West is special. America needs special people that lead. Bill Clinton? Special. Joe Biden’s not special.

I was threatened into being in one party. I was threatened as a celebrity into being in one party. I was threatened as a Black man into the Democratic party. And that’s what the Democrats are doing, emotionally, to my people. Threatening them to the point where this white man can tell a Black man if you don’t vote for me, you’re not Black.

And don't think for one single moment that Black people have forgotten about this, which is why he's being cussed for filth all over social media, which honestly, is the only place where Kanye is even receiving a modicum of discussion. The rest could care less.

Hopefully the returns likely being kicked past November will mean Democrats won't chase that shiny object - it is a quagmire many voters will tune out.

I'm skeptical, but issues like this seem laughably quaint.  I miss the days issues like American manufacturing jobs seemed important to debate.  Right now I'm much more interested in stopping the death and chaos.

Steve Bannon has already jumped in to praise this - which means the Republicans are obviously trying to sink it and overshadow any positive rollout (not that the media will give any). Apparently that old shitbag Navarro is fuming because he had an Executive Order along these lines drawn up for months and Kushner/Mnuchin blocked Trump from signing it.

If Trump loses, Kushner will likely be the key reason why.

To the NYS legislature, I doubt that Trump's tax returns are merely a shiny object. If he's been evading taxes with his properties, it has real implications for the state's tax base.

You're right about it being quaint but it's what you have to say to win votes in the midwest.

That said, I think that the COVID crisis has exposed some serious weaknesses with our supply chain and that going forward we need to look at how to bring some manufacturing back here. If Trump wasn't such a defective idiot he would've invoked the Defense Protection Act to produce everything from masks to hand sanitizer which would've been a great way to create jobs during this nightmare.

Also, I really want Joe to go back to his "basement." Seeing him out here doing events terrifies me.

Yes. I have to remember that I am in no way his target audience. My vote can't be lost.  And I'm with you. The fewer evens he does the better. At least he has the good sense to wear a mask.

Marceline is correct. Here in the Rust Belt of Ohio, a lot of people are still out of work and haven't truly recovered from 2008 and the shutdowns of auto manufacturers prior and since. If people feel like they have a rock solid job they can retire from, they're golden. I believe in this so heavily that I just completed one of Biden's surveys asking me about the key issues to win this state. Personally, I want to see him work on gun violence and systemic racism and climate change...but I also want him to win, and here that means jobs and the economy (stupid). ;)

P.S. I don't see him winning Ohio this go-round, but I do know polls are showing we are a little less leaning R than we were two weeks ago. Within margin of error I believe.

Yet another Ohioan chiming in - and @marceline is completely right about the DPA. As a health care worker, I am angry about the lack of PPE - still!! I have been using the same N95 mask for two weeks now. God forbid Americans should dare disturb Rump while he awaits his tee time at Maralago. It's Nero fiddled while Rome burned all over again - or let them eat cake!!

On a happier note, I just saw on the news that a group of people just painted a huge Black Lives Matter mural in NYC in front of Trump Tower...

And DeBlasio was one of them. Right-wingers are losing their minds over this.
