It's not new, but defunding during a pandemic feels like an escalation even for them.

but sadly, very "on brand" for this current Republican party, in which the cruelty is the point.

All that idiocy tells me is Diaper Don was looking forward to being able to smear Bernie with the scary "socialism" label and was praying Bernie would be the nominee. But - despite being impeached because of doing so - his attempted smearing of Joe Biden did not work and now Don knows he must go up against him.

If you think his smearing of Joe Biden from the whole impeachment business did not work, I'm here to tell you that you have some more thinks coming. I'm not sure what you're hearing, but in this Bleeding Red area, they are furious because the "Democrats used the impeachment to cover up what Biden really did."

Trump knows this, and Trump already knows how to play this hand.

There will ALWAYS be loons, and there will always be media smearing. Don't forget a big detail: The voters who are not fanatically behind Trump that voted for him four years ago because he was outside the box now know the truth. And Trump has not built up his base.

Add in, too, that Bernie-Bots are always loud, but loud does NOT equal big. Bernie's support SHRUNK this year.

I know all about getting discouraged, but try not to get stuck in it: It's what these a-s-s-h-o-l-e-s want. And I will not give it to them.

I think Bernie's supporters are all talk, and no action. Just like all the hippies that were going to change the world in the 1968-71 time period... and you see what happened in the 1972 election.

Don is TERRIFIED of Joe Biden, hence all the machinations.

So despite his constant wackadoodle rants, a part of me is happy because I know he is scared and miserable and it is all he deserves.

And it isn't just Diaper Don. Martha McSally in Arizona was trying to tie Mark Kelly - who is beating her in polls - to Bernie and socialism (hence why the presidential nominee is important to down-ballot races!) and now that's gone. Oops!

Trump most certainly wanted to run against Sanders. With Sanders having made so many positive comments about Cuba and the Soviet Union in the past there was plenty for Trump to exploit about socialism. Trump needed this election to not be an indictment on him, but based on fear and buzzwords. With the pandemic and jobs evaporating this race is a bigger indictment on a President since Carter in 1980.

That is right on the money. In a way this is worse than what happened to Jimmy Carter, in a way it's not. Trump can just play this "It's not my fault, it's the Chinese" card... while back in 1980, the sky high interest rates were considered horrible for the economy, but some people cleaned up like someone at the crap table on a roll.

It's been amazing to watch Trump all but campaign outright for Bernie to be the nominee while simultaneously claiming the Democratic party is full of socialists while at the same time Bernie's cult has been claiming that Bernie could beat Trump. It's just lunacy between the right and left fringes.

I just started reading this thread on the USPS but it's already worth the read. Some things you may have already known, and others you may not.

Thanks for sharing that, @DramatistDreamer .

I see that the NYT put out a piece on Biden's accuser today, which of course has been controversial and blown up the whole thing even more. I don't have the stomach to read it. Her story is just full of holes for me, namely how much she has changed key portions. I also feel like I have no real right to be in a position to judge though. The whole thing is just depressing and is only getting started.

It's too early to say, but I've rarely seen a well-respected senator self-immolate this way, especially since Maine is not a reactionary state. I can only guess that Olympia Snowe's well-known dislike for her was right on the money, and it just took enough time for the mask to slip.

Ha ha ha pigfuckers. Rigging, likely costing voters their lives, and you lost even more than you were already going to lose. I hope this is just the start of your losing, you pieces of [!@#$%^&*].

I LOVE how this so spectacularly blew up in the GOP's face. I KNOW we have a lot to worry about with a maniac and a complicit party in giving him cover.

But Wisconsin is also a valuable reminder: Americans are scared, they are getting veryfucking ANGRY, and they VOTE.

And ol' Wisconsin is a swing state. If I were Diaper Don, I'd be shitting my Depends right about now. And if Kentucky can do a solid and remove shitturtle Mitch McConnell, that would just be the cherry on top of the GOPshit sundae.
