One (of many) things that perplexes me about this SH*T-tastic tax bill is that it would appear to take control to levy taxes away from the states and local legislatures.

Wait, isn't always Conservatives/Republicans who never stop squawking about giving the individual states the right to determine their own ways of doing things?

This tax bill makes a mockery of that sentiment.

Boy when the GOP decides to dump all their beliefs for the sake of political expediency, they go whole hog!

I can't say what the worst part of all this is. Oh yeah it's that it represents NONE of what Trump campaigned on which was helping the little guy, removing carried interest which is something that should be gone, saving the social safety net, all those things people claimed he was for that led them to vote for them. He's basically rubber stamping every failed GOP policy that hasn't worked in the last 150 years because he doesn't understand or care to understand any of the legislation and his mental state is deteriorating. None of this addresses income inequality. Kansas was a failure, ask people who live in that state, and the entire congress is rubber stamping a tax bill for billionaires?

Did 63 million people vote for Trump to reward billionaires? It's why I cringe when I hear this. I was watching The View this morning since I was home, first time in a month, and Megan McCain(who is awful) went on about how this election was about poverty and about how she understands red America because she spends so much time there. So poverty is address by giving billionaires the biggest giveaway in history. For all the complaints about the establishment, this wasn't about rocking it, it was about giving the GOP clearance to rape average citizens. CEO's interviewed have said none of the money corporations are getting back will be reinvested by increasing wages, they will dump the money to shareholders and CEO parachute plans and will still send jobs overseas. Automation is already on track to eliminate another 25 million jobs by 2030, jobs that exist today, as well, and there is no plan to retrain and retool or help those people, especially those in red America

Can we be honest for once. This was about one thing. Backlash over a black president.  I hope for all those it was worth it.  I am a proud liberal and I won't be hurting, nor will my family, we have money set aside and investments(international now) and we are all financially secure but for those most vulnerable, I feel for them. I wish I could do more to help them.

Oh and all the cries of overreacting to Fascism. Fascism is the partnering of business and gvmt. Right how the oligarchs in this country are running it. The average everyday American has little voice. Even our freedom to access and use the internet is being taken away as we allow corporations to censor what we can and cannot see.

As I've said many times, they didn't vote for him for any policy reason. They voted for him because life under Obama made them get a small taste of what it's like to be a minority and it drove them crazy. I mean that literally. They opted to divorce from reality rather than accept a more level playing field.

They say they want jobs but what they really want is the elimination of competition for those jobs. Especially if that competition comes in the form of women and minorities who are better educated and/or willing to work harder.

I know it's tough but don't give him what he wants. He says stupid [!@#$%^&*] because he knows most of us have him on ignore now.

    • It's so jarring seeing the changeover from Sherry Mathis to Louan Gideon.  The vibe, mannerisms, and overall personality of Liza changes instantly. The chemistry Sherry has with both David F and Joe Lambie is gone the second the recast happens.  I wonder how viewers took the news of the recast since you didn't have time in between airings before the change happened. Quinn/Sarah... One overacts (Quinn) and one under acts (Sarah). Wendy of 1985 is a good mix of the 1982 sweet Wendy and the 1983/84 vixenish Wendy.
    • Oups!! I guess when i was doing the editing, i left a part of 3169, too (RTL Lounge airs 2 episodes per day back to back). Sorry about that ! Tonight i ll try to record 3171-3172. If i m not mistaken 3172 is missing from YouTube.

    • I would put Felicia in the 'small dose' auntie category because she means well, but comes on too strongly at times.  In small doses, she would be a blast to hang out with.. but in anything larger than a small... she would be exhausting. I tend to prefer lower key people than people that are always 'on' all the time.  Those people can veer off into energy vampire status pretty quickly.
    • I didn't like the Harry story, but Nazar did have a great introduction. He was probably the highlight of last year.  Now that you mention it, I guess the truly dire stories (Nicole, Harper/Drew/Phil, Nicole) didn't start until summer.
    • thank you all for contributing to the Vault. I am slowly getting towards watching the 1998 episodes

    • I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
    • Definitely not the best of RC's breakdowns. I don't know what it says that I could pick up his trademarks yesterday 30 minutes in without even knowing that he did one. There was something more...quirky/boardstroked...about Dani. Though I love the Dani/Nicole scenes, she was just a little too hip?...which made me think back to the episode when she broke into Bill/Hayley's house. Then watching the episode later on, I saw Hayley was being used as a punchline to the more interesting and relevant Bill/Ted scenes (see you all were just talking about how you hoped they got scenes...one thing this show is great at...what people want on this board...they already have the foresight for it. The reason I feel the DNA test will get mentioned @Cheap21 in more detail). And then poor Anita reduced for the most part propping up an album.    Needless to say, not my favorite RC episode. And since we are in aftermath week, I just smh. And barely worth a rewatch. BUT...was there good for me?    Yes. Thankfully, we still got good aftermath beats regardless of the breakdown.   Like I said, I really like the Dani/Nicole scenes. But I love their dynamic. And I was looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot once the SilkPress storyline hit climax. Quirks aside, it did not disappoint. Dani came in, and she came in fierce for her sister. I loved her attacking Eva. And then her being surprisingly introspective about Nicole due to her own experience. No wonder Nicole reacted to her being self-aware. So did I.    Meanwhile Bill and Ted finally met up. I'm kinda sad that we did not get that sooner given the scenes that played out sidepiece in the background aside. It might have been interesting to see more of their status as non-Duprees coming into the family explored.    And of course I can't leave without mentioning Eva vs SilkPress Sheila which was the highlight. Both of them were giving. And SilkPress was just so cold with it. I did love that Eva finally stopped letting her gaslight her. Sad to see the duo break up. But I did love that she went to Ted. So...the next turn begins.   And speaking of turns...uh oh at Kat and Tomas. I'm sure he won't be staying away from her. So most definitely, Kat vs Eva ain't over. It will be interesting to see how it goes now that most people know that Kat was right all along.
    • Nah I enjoyed it much more last year because of the Harry plot that ended during that time. Nazar being introduced and them. But this time it is so lame and nothing I like forward to anymore and I’m one of them long time fans. Of course I would be upset if they would cancel it but maybe take a year off or two and return refreshed
