Hahaha. About time.

Congrats, @Fevuh.

And as for dragging The Orange One out of the WH, I think quite a few people at this point would not mind it, and have memes and gifs ready...well the ones not already created.

Heck, he will be lucky to make it off the stage without Security snatching him up for one of his many crimes at the rate he's going.

Count me as someone who doesn't want to see Trump dragged from the WH. That would be such a reality show ending to the reality show presidency. I want Trump to go to Maralago or one of his other properties for the holidays and simply never come back. I want Joe Biden to have a dignified, COVID safe inauguration attended by all living former presidents and First Ladies (although the Carters obvs gets a pass). I don't want it overshadowed by Trump. I want it to be a thoughtful, somber event where we finally get to watch the end of the Trump years.

That's great news. You now have to keep us all updated on your progress. No pressure, lol.

What's funny is that during my many musings on how I would rewrite and redeem the mess that was ATWT's final decade, I mentally created an elaborately constructed storyline bringing back the Bryant character, who after overcoming a traumatic experience, eventually attends Harvard Business School (triggering all his grandmother's succession grooming impulses when she finds out) with a combination of online and in person learning, so your announcement brought out a bit of a chuckle and head nod.

As for the accusation that Biden is only choosing Harvard and Yale, Ivy League alums, Madame Vice President-Elect says "I'm still speaking", HBCU alumna has entered the chat. Also, there many more positions to be filled and a number of them are of vast importance. After sitting idle on their hands about Trump's cronyism picks, now people decide that it's of the utmost importance to speak up? Puhlease.

Thanks for posting that news conference, @Vee
It was uplifting and actually a bit comforting, tbh.

Yep. Pretty much. It should not have to be this much of a struggle for a transfer of power period.

And like @Khan said, while I am hoping for the best, I am preparing for the worse, bracing for him to lash out once the last of his lame attempts to get the election overturned fails.

LOL. A while back in Michigan, when restaurant lobbies were open, they wanted each customer who dined in the restaurant to provide their phone number for contact tracing purposes. People were in an uproar about how they have a right to their privacy and won't be giving out their phone number. These are the same exact people who jumped at the chance to join Parler and give out their SSN. Idiots.

    • Roger's return storyline may have been silly but Roger's return was what lead to GL's last golden era.  It was the combination of Roger's return and Robert Calhoun becoming EP that got GL to finally hit it's stride after some really bad years. It will always disappoint me that the ratings during Robert Calhoun's run didn't reflect the quality of the show.
    • He also gave some of the best episodes, like the episodes surrounding Doug's death. The problem with Days was that Ron had a horrible vision from he top. I don't feel the same for MVJ and nothing that has happened in all these months suggests she doesn't have a handle on the show. Now if it becomes an issue I'll acknowledge it, but I'm not seeing it so far.
    • Jean Hackney was awful and that lead to Ben's exit story which sucked. I liked Ben/Val together. Val's love for Ben was that of a grown woman moving on with her life and Ben's love for Val made him willingly decide to raise another man's children as his own.
    • It wasn't just a GL thing, it was an 80s thing. Opulent party scenes on soaps were very big back then. Even in regular episodes where people are just going to dinner they're dressed up like they're going to see royalty.
    • Just started the May 27 episode and first thing I see is that Willow got an ugly haircut since hte last time i watched   I dont have the context for how everthing went down but I know its all Lulu's fault which make her a bish for what she did to Gio
    • I'm pretty sure he was. But point taken. GL really had a thing for masked and costumed balls/parties in the '80's. Everyone looks fabulous, but those poor costume designers.
    • Still here ^^ Come on Prime Video, it's due to bring it back!
    • Got through the eighth season, and it was... painful.

    • I agree 100% with both you and Mitch64.  Soaps have been going further and further off-course since 1981. TPTB just don't have a fundamental understanding of what makes soap fans so loyal. I'd love to be on a writing team with both of you.  Maybe we could put together a real soap opera, and show people what its all about...
    • They weren't in town, but Fletcher worked at the paper (and we saw anniversary Journal headlines for the 50th, although I don't remember if Roger was one of them), and I'd think Alex would have at least heard of him due to the damage he did to Spaulding only a few years before her return to the fold. I know I have to remember it's not real life, of course.
