Thoughts:
Do not comfort her, Izaiah; she is getting what she deserves. She should be alone. Isolated. And ignored.
Results time. Praying Bradley or Martin are potential matches for Eva! Please, oh please be a match!
It is sweet that Jan stayed at Ashley's place until she got home. That is a true momma bear.
Aw, so sweet of Kial to FaceTime Nicole and check in on her and her family. And sweet of him to want to come over and really check on her.
Ashley, do not sell yourself short. You handled yourself incredibly well at the country club.
Shows how much of a bigger person Shanice is to show some kindness and compassion to Dana, considering all that the latter has done and treated her with.
DAMN! I was hoping one of them would have been a match for Eva. Ugh. That is so upsetting. And Ted, stop making excuses from the spoilt, self-centred bitch. It is not about being hardwired differently. It is about being a decent human being, which Katherine is not capable of being.
This is not about things that Eva has done; this is the same bullsh*t you pulled when it came to being tested for the BRCA2 gene. God. You are INSUFFERABLE. You should have been the one hurt underneath the stairs, not Eva. 🤬
I do love that Kial showed up to be there for Nicole. A genuine, standup guy. That is a true gentleman right there.
Get her, Izaiah. Unleash your anger on her. She fully deserves it. And YOU DID NOT CARE ABOUT EVA AT ALL! YOU BITCHED AND MOANED, ACCUSING HER OF BEING LAZY AND OVERDRAMATIC! Ugh. Gross. Uncouth. Good on Izaiah for not holding back and telling it to her like no one else in her family, outside of Martin, has done.
Of course Dana would take a kind, generous gesture as Shanice trying to gain points with Ted. Absolutely ridiculous.
Yes, you do not have Ted anymore, Nicole, but you have a solid guy in Kial with you, and that is what counts. He is there for you in this moment.
A little step towards reconnecting with Grayson. That was a good thing, Ashley. I promise it was.
Aw, the memories just flooding back from Eva's childhood for Dana... this definitely humanises her. So precious.
Aw... Kial just offering to hold Nicole while she sleeps is precious. I want and need that in my life sometimes. So solid.
I genuinely hope that everything Dana is saying sorry for is heartfelt and true, because that kind of vulnerability is rare, especially coming from her.
Say no, Ted! Just say no! Go on and say NO! Of course that spoilt, self-centred bitch would not want to be a match. God. If Eva dies, I pray that weighs on her conscience until her own dying day.
Notes:
Ah. Breath of fresh air. Slater is the gold standard for this soap. Her scripts are just... incredible. Truly incredible. And Tate did stellar in flushing everything out with the dialogue. It felt so nice and hit every single emotional beat that needed to be hit.
I appreciate that Ambyr Michelle (Eva) is not lying awkwardly in the hospital bed like [most] American soaps have their actors do. It feels more realistic and authentic.
Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole) gave a really heartbreaking performance in today's episode. She is such a standout on the cast for me. I never saw her other soap work prior to Beyond the Gates, but it baffles me how she was not a more prominent figure in the genre. She is genuinely so solid in her acting choices.
Trisha Mann-Grant (Dana) showed up during the second half of the episode to give another incredible performance. She can perform over the top too much, but when she is able to play those smaller, more concise moments, she shines so much.
