I saw a scare article in Politico about how Republicans have trapped Democrats as being the party of taking away burgers and plastic straws. I just rolled my eyes, because I just don't care anymore. If any idiot votes on that they're never voting for a Democrat anyway.

To say that it hasn't been a good week for Boris Johnson would be an understatement. Even the average Conservative party member is wondering how such a small majority was able to get him in when the populace didn't vote for him.  And the same tabloids where he used to rule the roost with his editorial pen, now assails him as the worst PM in history.

Oh well.

Didn't those draconian abortion  bans and restrictions start in Mississippi? Now it's spread to over half of the US and counting. All it takes is Republicans gaining control of the state legislatures or the governorship and that's when they wreck havoc. There's a saying that liberal laws start in California and spread throughout, I guess Mississippi is the conservative version of that.

"Oh well" is right.  Like I always say, "What comes around, goes around."  Boris fomented the racist sentiments that led to Brexit.  It's only right for Brexit to turn around and bite him on his fat ass.

However, I'm pissed that Conservative MPs in the British Parliament were willing to risk their careers by switching sides and voting against No-Deal -- essentially putting country before parties -- yet we can't get even one Republican in Congress to stand up to the Trump administration's dangerous policies and rhetoric because they're all so damn afraid of his voter base.

Probably.  I've been to MS only once, and I was there long enough to feel like I was visiting The Land That Time Forgot.

Why is Trump going around bragging about a failed diplomacy mission?  Most people already see his administration as incompetent on all diplomatic matters and then he talks about flopping an already risky, diplomatic mission with an already low bar of success.  Read the room already!  Just when you think this keystone cop administration couldn't look anymore incompetent and out of their depth...

    • I know there was one brief scene in the summer of 1989 where Lillian did mention Calla.. but in relation to her past relationship to Ross and it was to Roger while he was a patient at Cedars.  I think he was trying to pump her for information on Ross.. and for some reason, Calla's name came up.   I could see perhaps Beth mentioning that her mother Lillian was visiting Calla.. but not exactly giving any sort of details as to the going ons in Calla's life off screen.

    • They're neither great nor terrible AFAIK, but it is more a question of the streaming numbers in this day and age vs. actual TV airings. The Chibnall era reminded me much more of the crisis years, but I do think it's a very real possibility now as well due to the streaming bubble collapse affecting the show and its prospects.
    • ANYTHING to get her off the screen..she COULD have been interesting if she and Van had a few face offs..(there was a mild one of her going back to work...but I wanted something meatier "Bitch, I am Vanessa Chamberlain and I don't take advice from someone who followed the..career path you did!" I did like Alex's outright disdain for her.
    • Thanks @Vee for the commentary.    I haven’t even watched this season yet after  I couldn’t get past the couple episodes last season…like it was too Disneyified for my taste, although I did think it was a least better than the Chibnall era (but so is a lot of things). I’ll probably go back and binge it now. Hoping this season ends on a high note. I did read the ratings are terrible. As it stands I’m beginning to feel like what long time DW fans felt with S26 in 1989.
    • Yes, they are all on contract. Next.
    • I also never understood Alex's friendship with Sonni or keeping the secret of Marah's paternity.  Not exactly heartbroken about Ms. Sally being ushered to the Hereafter.

I'm sorry but I'm a glutton for punishment. Would love to see this woman OWNING the canvas. Telling off Leslie who tells her she's the head b!tch.
    • And in case anyone is confused; Rusty was hired by HB to work undercover and infiltrate some gang sabotaging Lewis.
