Members marceline
Agreed. He pissed me off a lot towards the end but he's on the side of the angels when it comes to this subject. I'm glad it paid off.
Members Juliajms
The front page of CNN is just terrifying right now. The warmongers out there have learned nothing from Iraq.
Members DramatistDreamer
The Gulf of Tonkin was trending on Twitter yesterday, which, from my recollection of social studies and history was said to be the conflict (many would say, manufactured conflict) that was used to justify the U.S. going into Vietnam. Seeing it trending yesterday was certainly unsettling. And I agree, it means there have been no lessons learned from past/disastrous military interventions by the U.S. in Southeast Asia (Vietnam), Central Asia (Afghanistan) and the Middle East.
Members DRW50
They just don't care. War makes them feel like big men (or big women, in a few cases). They can sigh, take off their glasses dramatically, and editorialize about The Horror Of War, while actually treating the whole thing as a fun game they will pay no price for.
Members marceline
This is basically Anita Hill saying don't use her as an excuse for purity theatrics.
Members Khan
Once again, WOC seem to be the only ones "getting it." You don't HAVE to like the person you're voting for. You just have to believe they could do a better job than the one who's doing it now.
Members DRW50
I see that Larry Wilmore did a Ringer podcast with Ben Shapiro. I'm so disappointed at how many times the "liberal" media gives a platform to this hard right bunko artist and bigot.
Members DramatistDreamer
Folks continue to treat comedians as if they are journalists and I don't get it. Then again, I didn't get how Larry Wilmore got that Comedy Central late night talk show in the first place. Writing off-color jokes are his forté, not political punditry. Anita Hill has repeatedly saying what she said about Joe Biden, so if folks are just now hearing it then they're being brand new. I'd rather wait to see how candidates do in the actual debates. Folks forget that Trump was at 1% (if that) at the very beginning of the GOP primary season in 2016. We all see how that turned out.
Members Juliajms
What a low standard, but yes, I would vote for any Democrat. We'll be lucky if these fools don't bankrupt the country with perpetual war.
Members Khan
IA that it's a low standard. However, it's one that the current administration has reduced us to. I truly don't care at this point WHO will be the Democratic nominee. I just want him (or her) to beat Trump in the election. That's it.
Members juppiter
The Dem debate lineups are out. The first debate on Wednesday, June 26, in Miami will include: Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren Former Texas Rep. Beto O'Rourke New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Washington Gov. Jay Inslee Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar New York Mayor Bill de Blasio Former Maryland Rep. John Delaney Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan The second debate on Thursday, June 27 will include: Former Vice President Joe Biden Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg California Sen. Kamala Harris New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet Author Marianne Williamson California Rep. Eric Swalwell Businessman Andrew Yang Former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper The draw was random, but the second night is definitely more stacked. Is Warren blessed or cursed by being the biggest name on night one? On one hand, she will be the most recognizable face on the stage. On the other, they'll all probably be coming for her.
